Specialised medical care is nearly unavailable in Gaza. Children are paying the price. Alongside our broader humanitarian support for Gaza, NL will contribute EUR 6 mln. to Jordan’s initiative to bring children there for treatment. We must act together to provide lifesaving care.

Wat ooit het kloppend hart van Zuid-Libanon was, is nu een stad getekend door oorlog. In Nabatieh zag ik met eigen ogen de impact van het conflict op inwoners, journalisten en hulpverleners. Nederland blijft hen steunen met noodhulp en hulp bij het opbouwen van hun bestaan.

Nederlandse reddingswerkers hebben de afgelopen dagen ongelofelijk hard gewerkt om hulp te verlenen aan mensen die getroffen zijn door de aardbevingen in Venezuela. Grote waardering voor al hun inzet onder zulke zware omstandigheden. Fijn dat ze nu weer veilig thuis zijn.

Conflict-gerelateerd seksueel geweld is verschrikkelijk. Wie het ook doet, we mogen het nooit accepteren. Nederland doet al veel om op te komen voor overlevenden van dit soort geweld, maar het kan altijd beter. Goed om daarover vandaag in gesprek te gaan met de Tweede Kamer.
