small paws are extended UP quickly. grabbing at the shapes to inspect them closer. scooting to face dad better. removing the piece of leather, mangled and wet, to give in an exchange for the better items. placing the feather shape that had caught their eye between vicious teeth first.

… caught. holding the mangled piece of leather between teeth. hiding their prize. can’t be taken away if dad doesn’t know it’s there. right?

happily chewing on the piece of leather they nipped off with. sat right under a table to hide while they’re gnawing on the new toy. face scrunched up in wild contortions to accommodate the actions.

picking up a piece of leather from the project Dad was working on. it goes right in the mouth to be chewed on. hurrying away before being noticed and the item is taken away.

nothing really. just a better view of the snacks. though they were in reach. they were still out of sight. at least partially. draping a small arm over Sil’s shoulder, the little beast is leaning forward and plucking snacks off the counter. tucking each one between themself and Sil.

glancing from the snacks, to Sil. and back again. arms lifted. the little cub didn’t bring a chair to stand on. they brought Sil for this mission. he really doesn’t deal with kids, does he? Mh-. an insistent tone and small bounce.

that’s becoming very obvious. . . oh well. wrapping the little paw around his hand. there’s a use for someone so tall to be around. he can reach the cabinets that hold snacks Dad is trying to hide. one door in particular, is pointed to. several times with a small, determined grunt. mh.

disappointing. a tiny sigh. choosing to lean against Sil’s leg for a moment before they’re standing again. looking up for just a moment with a hopeful extended paw.

little face scrunch, paws lifting just slightly. tugging at his pocket again. pointing to his mouth with the other paw before making an open close gesture. lifting after to cover one ear.

well. they know this one. the skinny one. the one who likes to take their place in bed. an arm curls around the remaining cookies. leaning carefully towards the lifted hand, stretching up slightly to meet Sil’s palm.

wiping off crumbs with a paw- it’s rude not to clean your face first. the little vastaya turns. a mouthful of cookies to eye the paper bag. it doesn’t take long to be added to the collection. and a cookie offered in return from a sticky crumb coated paw.

little paws dangling. swinging free at the barstool of Big Dads counter. their personal collection of cookies and chocolates piled high. paw wrapped securely around the bottle of juice. other arm resting as a barrier.

the shirt pouch is pulled closed only when they feel the hand rest on a shoulder. eyes turned up, innocent and wide. ready to deny any accusations of theft until another cookie- and juice!! is added to the spoils. both which earn a delighted squeal as the little beast runs off.

while big dad is distracted. there’s a chair being pushed up against a counter and a counter surfer on the climb. picking their share of sweets before descending the chair. baked goods kept in the pouch of their shirt that was folded up to hold their spoils.

frogs! ! ! a silent gasp and excited little paw taps. chasing the leaping mechanisms through puddles as the little cub went. kneeling to wind up any that had run out of steam and set them back again. they looked just like the one Blue had! . . . one frog is pocketed to take home. one for dad.
