21 - Super Metroid Another long-overdue game (I had played, never beaten). Time has dulled the experience of SM a little bit, but it's still an excellently designed game and it's cool to see how many bits of Metroid's DNA that originated here persist to this day.

20 - The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Long overdue to play this, and it was incredible. Link to the Past is one of my all-time favs, and this is truly an excellent modern re-interpretation of it. Terrific dungeons and bosses. If you like top-down Zelda and haven't played this, you must.

19 - Warframe Since I finally got around to beating all the current main quests, I will count this as "beaten" for as much as that's worth in Warframe. If you never have played this and are into looters, you really owe it to yourself to try it.

18 - Shapez 2 Still more to do in this, but I did beat the normal mode. I think this is one of the more friendly entries if you're interested in the optimization/factory genre. I am interested to try to program some of the more complex tasks, but I need to let my brain rest a little!

17 - The Slormancer One that's been on my backlog for a minute, and it's a fun under-the-radar ARPG that is for the build crafters out there. A seemingly infinite amount of ways you can customize skills around a system where every weapon has unique abilities.

15 - 2025: Mosaic Retrospective I really enjoy these (free!) mosaic puzzlers that Divide the Plunder puts out every year. I also really dig one of their other games - Proverbs - that is also in this same style.

Even though I was studying music when I first heard this full album, it caused a musical awakening for me beyond RHCP. I would not be as obsessed with funk and a lot of my bass idols today without this.

14 - 007 First Light Holy hell what a great game, and a great James Bond adventure. There are definitely some rough edges and annoyances that are inherent in IOI's design language to me, but then you get to experience a truly cool Bond moment and forget about the cruff. If you love Bond, a must-play

13 - Forza Horizon 6 I finally finished one of these! It's a very good open world racer that I wish they had interconnected the Japan flavor more into the Festival campaign. This will be a game I continue playing for years, especially since GT7 isn't coming to PC probably ever.

I’ve wanted a Maverick ever since they hit the market and decided to pull the trigger a couple weeks ago. It’s been really fun to drive! Also hybrid mileage when you don’t really have to to a lot of highway travel is fucking bonkers.

12 - Marathon I was not expecting to love this like I do. Unapologetically brutal, but the highs are incredible and unlike any other game I can recall. I only wish I had more time to dedicate to it, but I am sure to return on the regular. No one makes em quite like Bungie.

11 - Vampire Crawlers This was a very fun twist on the Vampire Survivors formula that took a second to wrap my head around, but you get to create busted builds just like its inspiration. Also pleased to be able to 100% this in about 20 hours and be able to put it down to move on to the next game.

10 - Pragmata I wasn't sure if the hack & shoot gimmick would hold up for a whole 10 hour playthrough, but I am happy to say it did and it's really fun! One of my favorite action games of recent memory. Why does Capcom seem to be the only 3rd party pub capable of making this type of game anymore?

9 - Slay the Spire II I don't know if I should put this here because what does "beating" Slay the Spire really mean? But I have cleared at least one Ascension level with every character so we're counting it. Not that this means I will stop playing it. Even in early access, it's a masterpiece.

8 - Chrono Trigger I’d been meaning to replay this through to completion for years. It’s funny how much more brisk the pace of the game feels as an adult, especially compared to what RPGs became from a playtime standpoint in the years following. Holds up incredibly, if a little easy.

7 - Super Woden Rally Edge Very fun and accessible rally racer that evokes PS1-era gameplay with an absolute banger of an OST. Can't wait to see the next Super Woden GP if this developer decides to go that direction.

6 - No Rest for the Wicked Well, we found a new ARPG obsession. I’ve been Souls-curious for a while since Elden Ring, and this scratches that itch. I love the progression systems and the art, and the gameplay feels very tight. Looking forward to seeing this evolve as it heads to 1.0

5 - art of rally I’ve owned this for a few years, but finally got around to completing the campaign. My favorite aesthetic in a racing game; vibes are immaculate. It’s more challenging than it would appear though! funselektor is a developer who I will pay attention to anything they put out.
