Whoever re-branded “brownout” to “de-energization” deserves a raise. This is some next-level marketing genius.

Ok. Maybe I'm wrong. I think having a robot companion when I'm late in life may actually be a good idea. I for sure have felt less lonely when commiserating with Gemini about GPUs, Linux, and general nerdery topics.

I would not be surprised if one of the main writers of #pluribus is in recovery. It’s not remotely what it’s about [1], but it captures some incredibly nuanced parts of what it’s like to be an addict. [1] It’s probably 2% of the story.

@gruber.foo The carousel control on the Apple Creator Studio page supports your theory that maybe de-(gl)assification is already happening. There's whimsy as it scrolls into view, but remains shaded. It's trivial to implement glass on the web, so this seem deliberate. www.apple.com/apple-creato...

They wanted cheaper eggs, so they voted in the bankrupt sexual predator. You won't believe what happened next! Also, there's something incredibly poetic about the cost of "calm" increasing.

Me to my dog: You’re so perfect. Except for that, wanting to murder other dogs when we go for walks, part.
A handsome pug.

😅 Decent? Hard to say because I haven’t had a steak in about 25 years. Top sirloin* from Harmon’s Smoker set to 400 Lightly coated w/ olive oil and fresh ground salt Cook 3 min on each side. * I also have no idea what this means. ** Happy to take non-rainforest destroying recipe recommendations.

Speaking of people on facebook, I absolutely live for folks who post random objects in this "used teardrop trailer" group I'm in. "When were the axels last greased on that thing?"

Here’s my Bluesky-exclusive #adobesummit pro-tip: The chocolate shop has *infinitely* better coffee than Starbucks / Illy and rarely has a line.

I have been on this planet 43 years. In all that time, I have never been loved as much as Willie loves me. I’m so utterly undeserving of this, so I cherish every moment.

ChatGPT is really destroying humanity and putting people out of jobs. I used to ask my German friends to make up words for situations I found myself in, but they have been replaced by ChatGPT.

Document Authoring is an early-access technology for #AEM. It marries the speed of document-based authoring with the enterprise-grade features you expect: localization, assets, bulk tooling, etc. Today, we launched the first of many sites that will use DA. 7,000+ pages, 4 languages, and 6 locales.

Product: “What if instead of having people just grab paper towels, we add a motor and motion sensor?” Engineer: “This sounds like busy work that provides no real value and will cost the company more money.” Product: “So… when do you think you’ll be done?” Engineer: “. . .”

@joannastern.bsky.social 1. Reliable charging network if planning on road tripping. 2. Some form of advanced lane-assist / auto-pilot. 3. 250+ miles. Honorable mentions: 1. Ground clearance 2. Auto lift gate 3. Good infotainment (Rivian / Tesla) or CarPlay. 4. Leather-ish interior for cleaning.
