It is intended as a multi-player RPG but has rules/tools for solo play. So far my PCs are exploring catacombs for an ancient artifact. thebrokenempiresrpg.com #SoloSeptember #RPGs #TheBrokenEmpires 030

Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 11/09/2026This is such a novel idea and the first three links were quite intriguing. I’m quite looking forward to listening to this next set. 110
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Another great hobby delivery from @sabotag3d.bsky.social. Some more morale trackers for Chain of Command and my new AWI Sharp Practice project. They look so nice painted it seemed a shame to keep them in a drawer when not in use. #wargaming 050
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Based on my observations of social media behavior - it requires an obsessive hyperfocus on the number of rivets a given tank should have, and an equally obsessive need to tell everyone else how their tank is rubbish because it doesn’t have enough rivets on it. Bonus if you also mention muddy treads. 110

Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 13/08/2026At this stage of the war neither side had full naval or air superiority and both were at the end of very long supply chains. There was a reluctance to risk the American fleet there around the clock so they’d dash in and resupply during the day then zip off at night. And vice versa for Japanese. 2/2 020
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 13/08/2026The Japanese held the upper northwest portion of the island which was closest to their main base in the area at Rabaul. And they flew air sorties out non-stop to harass the Americans. Ships dropping mines would have been very vulnearable in the day and it’s risky to do at night. 1/2 120
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 13/08/2026The more I read about the Guadalcanal campaign the more impressed I am with the logistical challenges both sides faced just to get troops there and supplied let alone conduct any combat operations. 010
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I have always used WW1 and WW2 but am slowly being converted to the FWW and SWW nomenclature given how many UK-based historians I follow. I’ve already made the transition from American Revolution to AWI. So there is hope for converting Americans as well. 100

Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 10/05/2026I’ve been distracted by US Old West and Hastings-era, but if I really had to stick with one I’d stay with WW2. Others catch my attention now and then but WW2 is the default. 010
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 23/04/2026The misalignment of hobby motivation schedule and available time for hobbying is a serious frustration to me at times. 140
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 21/04/2026Super excited about my newest haul from @sabotag3d.bsky.social! Ordered weekend of Salute, they were posted immediately after and arrived here in US in about a week. Lots of painting to do, but should set me up for What A Cowboy and Chain of Command. Plan to display the CoC morale tokens thus. 291
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 25/03/2026Generally inexpensive - around $20 USD per box. If you can find the specific box you want. There’s a big range of manufacturers and factions - certainly for WW2. Quality is hit or miss. Most take paint well. Not build what you want although you can modify sometimes - depends on the pose. 100
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 10/03/2026Looks like a great session. I play mostly solo and have several other TFL games. I’ve wondered how well S&H would play solo given the hidden card information and decision to invoke a test. Do you have any recommendations on that? 130
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Goodness - hope that resolves well soon! I once went in for a lab blood draw. The technician jabbed me and then said “Oops”. Not reassuring. She then noticed I had turned pale and said I should have told her I didn’t do well with blood draws. I said that hearing “oops” was the issue. 160

Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 10/02/2026I’ve heard people predict we could build a giant 3D printer to the moon and it would assemble a research facility by itself from moon rocks. I can’t get mine to print a toy boat Benchy, but sure, let’s plan on that working out. 020
Scott Miller @millersw1.bsky.social · 10/02/2026As if painting stripes on shields wasn’t hard enough, you’ve got to worry about horse caparisons too? I’ll stick with WW2 and scifi… But it does look quite impressive. 010
