“Tracking down the origin of this particular straitjacket was weirdly difficult, despite how popular it is! It doesn’t really have an official name, though I am going to just call it the Puffy Collar Straitjacket. As you can see, this is a straitjacket so dumb that it can only be cooked up in the minds of fetishists. The puffy collar is extremely comfy, provides great neck support, acts as a posture collar, and for some weirdos it is apparently hot as hell.”

“(I am one of those weirdos.)”

“If that wasn’t fetishy enough, the straitjacket also includes these weird stirrup leggings that no normal person would cook up! One has to ask why these were made. My leading theory is that leggings are hot, and because this jacket is mostly drawn on furries, the toe holes are present to let them still be worn by furries without fucking up anatomy.”

“While I was trying to track down the origin of this straitjacket, I discovered two individuals primarily responsible for creating it. Spiderweber is the artist who has most commonly drawn these, and the reason why I was made aware of this. But, as far as I can tell, the first known piece of art with this jacket was a commission by Creeper1574. If I had to speculate, Creeper came up with the idea, but Weber was the one to actually bring it into fruition.”

“I asked if I could interview either of them, but they put me in this jacket and had me shipped to an institute. Though I’m sure once they realize I’m just a researcher and not a freak they’ll let me out of here.”

“This one is really pushing the definition of ‘straitjacket’. Does it really count if it just started as a bunch of tape rolls before it was put on me? Well, as long as it's holding my arms in place I guess it counts.”

“This is an example of an improvised straitjacket. For most not willing to pay stupid amounts of money for novelty bondage gear, improvised jackets are about as good as they’re gonna get. This one is made up from duct tape. Force a captive’s arms to hug themselves, wrap their torso, and you got yourself a tape jacket. Though this raises the question of why leave the legs free if the point is to restrain? Maybe they ran out of tape? Apparently they spent a little extra to make an improvised crotch strap to make it a little harder to slip out of this, so they can’t be that over-budget.”

“One fringe benefit of this tape jacket is that you can easily write on it. Of course you can write on any straitjacket, but most are so expensive it wouldn’t be justifiable. With this, it’ll be going in the trash anyway, so people can write whatever mean things they want on this.”

“Despite how tight this is, duct tape does have a fatal flaw. The glue used in the tape reacts to sweat, meaning if I struggle enough I can slip out of this. Of course that can be negated by a second layer of underwrapping, either with saran wrap or more duct tape.”

“Another flaw is that if it's wrapped directly on skin, it can be a bitch to get off-”

“You did remember to put on the saran wrap layer right?”
