I mean you can always do some studies, but honestly having your own style is cooler than doing realistic rendering :P

I have come to the realization that I am not going to be able to do any october art challenges PROPERLY due to being busy during at least 3/4 of it. The good news is I started working on #cringetober this morning and I have already finished 4 of em >:) BUUUT I keep being overly ambitious AF... e.g:

a very very messy digital sketch picturing a scene taking place in a kitchen with a dining table in it. There are six people sketched into the image, all of whom are my OCs. From left to right: Destiny is standing at the counter with a coffee machine. Anya is sitting at the table looking tired while Frances stands behind her ruffling her hair and holding a frying pan in her other hand. Across the table are Elena, who's smiling down at her daughter, Bella. Bella is climbing onto her chair. In the background stands Henry, a butch lesbian woman, pointing with a spatula.

artists, how do you draw hair? as swoosh-floof-ily as possible :3

A digital bust-up drawing of a white person with a round face, tired blue-gray eyes and vampire fangs. They're smiling off to one side. Their brown hair is comprised of many curly/wavy clumps that pile on each other in a messy fashion, in the style of a grown-out mullet.

A plus-size filipino man (my OC Gabriel) lying with his head on on someone's leg. He's wearing a purple cardigan and smiling upwards at somebody. His long silky dark hair is flowing down either side of their leg and behind his shoulder.

A humanoid person with giant elf-like ears (my OC Aleia) is smiling wistfully to the side with a hand tucked under her chin. She has tan skin and freckles. Her hair is only a shade darker, a dirty blond, and it flows in a curling, wild manner down behind her shoulders, with a few loose strands coming to the front. At the top of her hairstyle, two small braids curl back from her brow, around her head, like a crown.

A white boy with green eyes and freckles (Caleb) looks reproachingly towards someone off-screen. His hair is chin-length and fluffy, curling at the edges. A sharp rim light illuminates the edge and some loose strands within his hair.

Digital art of three pre teen girls in a bedroom chilling together, reading magazine, laughing. They are surrounded by childhood clutter, magazine and late 1990s toys

Digital art of original character Aran with his three friends Jaden, Eric and Marina sitting in a diner booth sharing drinks

commission for @strifeyy.bsky.social, his character j'gar lunan (jay apostrophe gar, like the fish 🤭). loved working on this guy, thank you for commissioning me 💜 #art

digital hips-up portrait of a half-orc. he appears to be a young adult, is muscular and fat, and has grayish green skin, curly brown hair in a mullet, some short stubble over his jaw, and prominent lower tusks. he has a few light-colored scars going diagonally over his nose, as well as several scars over his whole body; the tip of his one visible pointed ear is missing. he's dressed in a white shirt with its sleeves rolled up, and blue overalls. there is a cord around his neck, and he is clutching a lily pendant hanging off of it with both hands, inspecting one of the bent petals with a sad, pensive expression. the background behind him is blue, adding to the melancholic mood.

let’s celebrate pride!! ❤️🥳 if you see this, qrp with queer art! 🌈🎨

In a purple armchair sits Alex, a butch Korean woman with short-cropped hair dyed orange on top. She's wearing a lesbian flag bracelet on her left arm, while her right arm is a robotic prosthetic from the elbow down. She's wearing an open buttoned shirt and under the knee poofy pants Sitting on the arm of the chair with one leg over Alex's, is Maeve, a chubby white woman with pink-dyed straight hair in a bob with bangs. She's wearing a knit sweatervest and short skirt as well as knee-high socks. She's got her arms wrapped around Alex's neck and their faces are close together as they smile at each other.

On a featureless background with their wings spread out stand an angel and a demon in a careful embrace. The angel, Carrie, has midtoned skin with shining freckles, and her eyes are pure glowing white. Her purple curly hair is pulled back into a bun and she's wearing regency era clothing, with a poofy sleeve dress and long white gloves. She has one arm around the demon's waist and the other on the back of the demon's neck. The demon, Anna, is carefully cupping Carrie's face with one bony hand. She too has midtoned skin, with dark eyes, barely visible from the back/side view. She is shirtless, with short-cropped hair in the back. One of her wings stretches directly toward the camera while the other is to the side. The tip of her demon tail is visible, tipped with a heart-shape.

"He was nuts TY, like 10 feet tall and lit up like a glow stick!" #hunt

A man sits on the edge of a bathtub in a bathroom, covered in bandaids and scratches. He explains something to two other people. A woman kneels next to him, holding one of his arms and magically healing a wound. She looks at him incredulously as he explains. Out of focus in front of the two, part of a man hands a towel to the injured man. The piece has a yellow tint to it

Hmm, cool! Thanks for your input :) when I offer chibi commissions that's somewhere around where I usually end up going, I'm just not sure if I like it for my own ocs for some reason. I'm still chipping away at this slowly, by which I mean, I haven't touched it for two days lmao

milimigu (★ ω ★) art @milimigu.bsky.social · 08/04/2025

I'm trying to figure out, if I make stickers of my OCs, what's the best style to do it in... Chibi feels classic, but it's not my usual art style, and I can't decide if I like it (and if I do, how extreme a chibi?). Leaning towards more realistic tbh, but then - eye, nose style etc... [ #ocs #art ]

A picture of a sketchbook page with five different characters lined in a thick black pen. Each one is has different proportions - from 2 heads tall (most extreme chibi) with dot eyes, to a not at all chibi style, with a relatively smaller head and cartoony facial features with more detail (like eyelids and a nose), approximately 5 and a half heads tall.

I keep trying to trick myself into doing that thing where you draw backgrounds like they're characters to add personality, and make them more interesting. Alas, I keep being defeated by my mortal enemy: I Do Not Want To Draw Backgrounds. None of my tricks work.... he is simply too powerful

This being said, as a person who doesn't have to depend on art as a career I am in a privileged position of not having to worry about the industry or anything... I have the freedom to do art for fun, not profit, but not everyone does and that really sucks. :(

Always and forever sick of AI generated images but I'm also sick of talking to people about it because nobody irl takes me seriously, so from now on my form of rebellion is to quietly keep making my own art and writing my own stories and to never use gpt, at all, ever.

forcing myself to finally throw together little general blurbs about my characters because i know myself and won't ever talk about them otherwise #ocs

Cropped art of a young man with wavy, shoulder-length brown hair smiling over his shoulder with a delicate hand near his face. He is dressed blue robes and his fingers are stained black.
Included text reads:

Noa Avaren

The generous description of "mage" is one given to Noa on mere technicality - though plenty believe his father’s esteemed position may have also had a helping hand. Despite his acute attunement to the more foundational aspects of magic, the young man's talent in actually wielding it is… truly pitiful at best.
A good amount of overconfidence and a bit of sheer luck, however, do work wonders to redress his shortcomings. And Noa is not one to allow his own faults to interfere with quelling the growing, insatiable hunger for what greater knowledge lies just beyond his grasp.

he/him - 5’6” - 4/17
inquisitive - compulsive - craves others’ approval - pursued by The Horrors

Cropped art of a noble adorned with various pieces of gold jewelry and a stern expression. A large X shaped scar marks the side of their face and their red hair is being blown to the side, bright flames coming off the ends.
Included text reads:

Kaemon Sakyuré

The second child of the royal family has not held an audience in years. Seldom heard from by those outside of their keep isolated away in the mountains, Kaemon neglects most other duties in favor of overseeing a great volcanic forge whose fires burn with traces of magic. The resting place of an ancient god - or so it's believed.
An awfully frigid individual, Kaemon is no stranger to the deceitful nature of the noble courts that their family helps cultivate and is well aware of the weaknesses that a tender heart presents.

they/them - 5’9” - 8/23
cunning - headstrong - debatably a masochist - delights in a bit of pettiness

Cropped art of a man with messy blonde hair and various small scars. He is looking off to the side, displeased. A large fur embellished with a few feathers is thrown over his shoulder.
Included text reads:

Peregrine Pike

An impressively disciplined collection of sellswords, the mercenary company, the Capelin, seeks out desperate individuals to fill its ranks. A scout quite far from home, Perrin makes no exception.
The young man does his best to remain inconspicuous within the company, yet try as he might, the favoritism Perrin has garnered from its co-owners brings all sorts of unwanted attention his way. Even with his rather standoffish demeanor, there is simply an inexplicable air to him that's almost electric.

he/him - 6’4” - 6/13
faithful - superstitious - a chronic workaholic - burdened with longing

New OC introduction! This is Aleia (uh-ley-ah), she's a unicorn turned human who is trapped in a deal with a witch who steals her powers to get immortality. She was sacrificed into it by her family, who she is still loyal to. Very self indulgent design in p. much every aspect :3 [ #art #ocs ]

A woman stands on an orange backdrop with a big diamond-star shape behind her. She has mid-brown skin and her hair is only a bit darker, smooth and silky and curling at the tips. A unicorn horn comes out of her forehead, the hair parted around it. She has a blue eye and a brown eye and a straight, long nose, as well as freckles. In one hand she is holding a dagger. She is wearing a light turquoise shirt with poofy sleeves and a laced front, and dark turquoise pants that are tucked into tall boots. She has a unicorn tail, long and thin with a tuft of hair at the end.

Two alternate outfits for the character Aleia, a human form unicorn. In one, she is wearing a teal dress, that fades from light to dark at the bottom. In the other she is dressed in her orange undergarments, a simple cloth bra and drawstring shorts. She has claw-mark scars on her right forearm, a lightning mark scar above her left hip and a mass of scarring right above her right ankle.

Aleia's alternate form, as a unicorn. She is a spotted horse, her coat the same color as her human skin tone, and her mane the same as her hair, perhaps slightly darker. She has a unicorn horn and tail and the same scars as her human form. Her chin has a little beard. In the corner of the canvas is a close-up on Aleia's eyes (in human form): the right one is blue, and the left is a dark, grayish-black.
