1/3 The (anticipated) failure of the #MCGS (Main Combat Ground System) comes right after the #FCAS/#SCAF débacle. Same story both times: Paris and Berlin diverge on the weapons they want, on the degree of tech sovereignty, on who leads the initiative, and on who pays.

Finland investigates break-ins at MPs homes. Stubb: "an attack against a member of parliament is an attack against democracy." Harassment and intimidation to silence and to create fear and hesitation. Well known tactic of certain security services. www.euronews.com/2026/10/01/f...

Oh yes! Publicity stunt 100%. But a fun one, especially if Terminator movies were big when you grew up… (and unless there’s some unwanted impacts not mentioned in the article).

1/8 🚀 Big news for W! Today we publish our constitution alongside a major platform upgrade: a verified-only feed, W Live on European infrastructure and easier account migration. Here’s what’s new, and what it means for you. 👇
The Constitution of W
The conversation belongs to humans
Version: 1 October 2026

Social media changes how humanity talks. It connects billions of us. It also fills the public conversation with bots, filter bubbles, engineered polarisation and machines pretending to be people. And we have stopped talking with people who see the world differently.
We are building W so that we can talk to each other again: real people, real dialogue, and trust in who is on the other side of the conversation. Civilised, even when we disagree. Because we are all humans first. And we believe that people generally mean well.
This is our constitution: ten articles that guide everything we do. They apply to everyone on W.

That does seem problematic, doesn’t it. No having the cake and eating it… But negotiations could spring up solutions if interests align enough, maybe. Not straightforward in any case.

It also depends on the “how” of rejoining: YouGov, June 2026: 55% in UK support rejoining, but only 35% if the UK must accept the euro, Schengen and other obligations. All accession is negotiated, but on EU side not at all clear there’s a full return to old opt-outs. yougov.com/en-gb/articl...

What do Britons think of Brexit, 10 years since the referendum?
57% of Britons believe the UK was wrong to vote to leave the EU, and 55% want to rejoin... unless the UK can’t keep it’s previous opt-outs

Okay so I've built a new Atlas, this time it lets you explore the conversations on Bluesky over the past 7 days graphically. It should update every ~6 hours and help you navigate the information environment that exists on here. I've learned a LOT about what people do here today... atlas.jazco.dev

The kettle's on again! ☕ W Mythology Vol. 3 is out - this time: "9% active users" = ghost town? Turns out that's not a bug, it's the internet. 1% rule, 90-9-1, and the maths that acquits W. 🍪📊 Even Bluesky scores the same - nobody calls it haunted. 👻 denys.dev/w-mythology-... #WSocial

I also find non-removable bottle caps awesome. It’s a strange target for eurobashers. Makes these folks look childish. It solves a specific issue, without a meaningful increase in production costs, beyond transition. Unless you were running an ancient production line.

Cheers! Yeah, I watched the segment you posted and it reminded me of Snyder’s excellent book. It’s a depressingly effective strategy, applied by what seems like all autocrats. I still recall the realisation that our great education systems didn’t actually protect us - naive…

Indeed. Free speech protects also views we may dislike or disagree with. Nobody has a right not to be offended or challenged, while genuinely unlawful speech must not be tolerated. If you disagree, challenge the argument with facts and reason—not by trying to silence it.

Tepsi sentään kuudentena… Hunajata! Totta puhuen, kävin yhden matsin puolityhjässä turkuhallissa katsomassa viime vuonna, että lapset kuulisivat Hunajatan aidossa ympäristössä. Mutta koko touhu vaikutti jotenkin innottomalta. Eikä sitä maaliakaan saatu aikaiseksi. Vaisua.

Yet more people than ever get their news from social platforms. This also means the gap between where we get information and how much we trust it keeps widening. Maybe that is the gap for which W is intended?

We want to get it right… this journalist has used the shorthand ”roskis” instead of the full and proper ”roskakori”. The degradation of language, even in such serious matters as this, has reached intolerable levels.
