I completely agree on Killing Eve. And, while I feel the same way about Ted Lasso, I wonder if part of it was because we didn’t need it anymore. The first season came along during the worst of the pandemic and served as an antidote for the times but after that, we’d all moved on.

They’re perpetually uncool and more likely to be categorized as art rock but I think the Electric Light Orchestra qualifies as power pop. When you listen to the New Pornographers you definitely hear their influence. In fact, Carl Newman once said he wanted “Living Thing” played at his funeral.
