In fact the two founders are both spouses of key national Republican figures, who were at the launch the state Chair of the Florida GOP and on the Board of the Republican National Committee. Both organizations provided the Moms with funding in six figures. Florida became the launching pad for a national effort to intervene in local elections for school boards in battleground states described in Mr Walker's piece, supporting and supported in some instances-including Indiana and Michigan-- by appearances by Fla. governor Ron DeSantis. The unmasking of this deceptive and manipulative abuse of local elections is unworthy of the Republican Party of Lincoln, but it seems to be par for the course of the MAGA/Trump conspiracy. A willingness to import black listing of literary classics and demonizing the teaching of Black History and black teachers as "DEI hires" is the local iteration of Project 2025. The meltdown of the Trump myth may have been slowing the advance of this false flag anti-democratic abuse of local elections; while the forecast may be for further disintegration of this dangerous scam, we would do well to be on the lookout for evidence of alternate strategies to inject these far right nightmares into our local elections.
