I’ve felt this as an executive, which is why I left what was 10s of millions of $ and would be almost $1B now in unvested stock and stepped away when faced with a deep moral dilemma to keep my conscience clear. I have no regrets, and this is the best articulation of how I felt that I’ve ever seen.

I grew up a couple blocks away decades ago. That was a favorite, small community store, and not too many people in the area were wealthy back then. Most seemed to appreciate the friendly little walking-distance, family store among all the homes. Now, it seems NIMBY’s (even NIYBY’s) run things.

My 11 yo nephew came from Ukraine to visit us, and when he saw the first plane in the sky that he could remember ever seeing, which wasn’t trying to bomb him or blow up another plane, we had a similar, sad realization. No child deserves the world Putin and today’s hard right filth have created.

I was recently invited for an expert panel to discuss European Digital Sovereignty as part of the “Europe as a Task” conference at Prague castle. Ended up sitting right behind Czech President Pavel and Finnish President Stubb, which put me center frame on TV, so I got some nice photos and video 🙂
