Shitty camera? Yes, by modern standards. This is from a Kodak Hawkeye No2, model B. 2 shutter speeds, likely 1/30th and B. No aperture control. But I can't help imagining the joy and wonder of those early (1913-33?) snappers, as photography now became in reach of most people.

Always intrigued by what if Gov set up parallel utility services to private. They'd not offer frills, advantage points, so-called freebies, but be very basic, cheaper and fairly reliable. No shareholders, so money goes back into infrastructure. What would the uptake be?

It had to happen sooner or later I suppose. Eye test today (*only 1024 days overdue!) and while just a tiny increase for my usual distance specs and no eye-health issues, I'm now recommended reading glasses. Just one step away from bifocals on a string and leather elbow patched cardigans, I fear :-)
