The podocyte conference in Hamburg was outstanding at all levels- science, innovation, speakers and venue. Many thanks to the organizers and to Hamburg, Germany for providing the perfect destination for an international meeting focusing on podocytes and on glomerular disease.

Meaningful research is always a challenge and difficult. But the real challenges and difficulties are what people with diseases like recurrent focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (rFSGS) go through. Lab researchers should all be encouraged to hear the stories of people with diseases they study.
