This week's #RandomGameSaturday isn't random at all! Mike, you fraud. Did you know: Someone wanted to make a TV show with the same title? It had absolutely nothing to do with the game. They could have named it something else and not had to ask for permission. I read the first script—it was bad.

Oh, it's #RandomGamrSaturday again. Seems it comes around every week now... Gotcha Force on the GCN. A fun little mini-mech battler with the dumbest story. At one point a bank robber and a cop face off, their toys fighting in a little ring, while the entire police department stand around watching.

I wonder why they went with "Gotcha" instead of "Gacha."

We skipped yesterday, but I'm back on my bullshit. Today's Burger Week experience is: Angus Kefta (24 hour fermented patty), American and sirene (Bulgarian feta) cheese, homemade pickled cucumbers and shaved sweet onions, shoestring fries, topped with homemade hot honey, on a toasted pub bun.

A hefty burger dominates the frame. A second lurks behind, waiting for its time. Soon, the knives will come out. Soon...

For my lifeaversary ("birthday" to you), I usually request a lemon cake with cream cheese topping. Simple, but my wife loves baking but hates simple so usually doesn't make it unless I ask. This year I'm going for a pineapple cake with coconut cream pudding. People. It's a pina colada in a cake.

It's Saturday, I'm up, so it's #RandomGameSaturday time. Gladius! Remember LucasArts? They used to do games that weren't Star Wars every once in a while. This is one of them. Combat generally felt very slow and methodical, with a lot of emphasis on status effects (slow, blind, etc.).

Today's #RandomGameSaturday post: Hybrid Heaven for the N64! One of the earliest titles to use the graphics expansion pak, not that it helped all that much. Okay, imagine you're, like, a FF Red Mage, but for punching. You need to get hit in the face to learn how to hit others. It works somehow.

A yellowed, sun stained copy of Hybrid Heaven. It had some good ideas, but turn-based 1v1 brawling never really caught on.

Today's #RandomGameSaturday entry from me is: Tank Beat for the Nintendo DS! This must have been a game that I played an eval copy of, but didn't get licensed by the company I worked for at the time. Was it fun? I honestly don't remember. But apparently I thought it was worth paying full price for.

Does "bookie" still exist as a criminal class anymore? It used to be you had to go to Vegas or Atlantic City to even do sports betting (barring the occasional horse or dog track). You had to know a guy in a seedy back room to place bets on anything. That whole trope is just gone now.

That is a wrap on Hades II. Really, very fun, and with enough variety to keep you mixing things up. Even after an absurd amount of play time, I'm still getting new dialogue without repeats before boss fights. Kudos to SuperGiant for this one!
