Last friday I finnaly got the chance to defend my PhD thesis "Scaling of Digital-Analog Quantum Computing". I see no better way to end this 5-year process than with a meme specially crafted for these times

Kudos to the authors of this paper for making this joke based on the main result of the paper. I chuckled a bit, 10/10 (from arXiv:2604.18699)

New paper on arxiv! This time is about the generalisation of digital-analog protocols to qudit systems, which maintains polynomial resource requirements as for the qubit case and allowing for more efficient mappings. Congrats to Alatz and to our supervisor @qmisanz.bsky.social. arXiv:2512.17697

New paper on arXiv! This one is about the maximum time requirement for Hamiltonian simulation using digital-analog, which is just linear with the number of couplings. This settles a long-standing open question and allows us to better understand DAQC's scaling requirements scirate.com/arxiv/2512.1...

Tight bound for the total time in digital-analog quantum computation
Digital-analog quantum computing (DAQC) is a universal computational paradigm that combines the evolution under an entangling Hamiltonian with the application of single-qubit gates. Since any unitary ...

We have published a new paper on arXiv. This one is about a new DAQC protocol for Hamiltonian simulation. This has been a nice colaboration between the quantum computing group at the DLR in germany and the UPV/EHU at the basque country. scirate.com/arxiv/2511.1...

Happy to see the results of the collaboration between Philipp Hauke's group at UniTrento and @nquirec.bsky.social here at the @ehu.eus published on PRR. If you like to optimize your circuits using symmetries, you should take a look doi.org/10.1103/6ldg-3w1f

Task for my last day of work before my unpaid leave I took for writing my PhD thesis: save and classify +200 arXiv papers.

I’m happy to announce the results a collaboration with Adrian Franco Rubio, Alatz Alvarez Ahedo and Mikel Sanz, “Impact and mitigation of Hamiltonian characterization errors in digital-analog quantum computation”, arxiv.org/abs/2505.03642. The title is self explanatory, but there is more to it

Impact and mitigation of Hamiltonian characterization errors in digital-analog quantum computation
Digital-analog is a universal quantum computing paradigm which employs the natural entangling Hamiltonian of the system and single-qubit gates as resources. Here, we study the stability of these proto...

I think it would be a good time to reinstantiate the mirror network for the # arXiv. It’s an essential piece of the global research community in math, physics, computer-science and adjacent fields. Under the current circumstances it should not only be hosted in the US. #quantum #math #physics #cs
