I've worked for him at his house and he was honestly just very Richard E Grant-y. Doubt he'd be putting on a performance just for me. Didn't seem like a dick and was very completely about the work .

Honestly, why wasn't it adapted? It's a great story and that opening is so cinematic. I shall certainly check out 1000 blows and Richmond Unchained (Apple TV?) Congratulations on finding your niche!

I remember being drawn in by the opening prologue of George MacDonald Fraser' "Black Ajax" and how brutal (and long!) those bare knuckle bouts in front of The Fancy were. Was surprised it wasn't adapted into a film/TV series. I shall have to check your work out.

In the original scene, Professor McGonagall addresses the main trio (Hermione, Ron, and Harry) after a dangerous incident, asking: "Why is it when something happens, it is always you three?"
In this edited version, the characters represent major global entities, turning the scene into a commentary on international relations and modern political rhetoric:
• Professor McGonagall represents the European Union (EU), adopting the role of the frustrated authority figure questioning global disruptions.
• The Trio represents the Russian Federation, the United States, and Israel—three nations frequently at the center of major geopolitical conflicts and news cycles.
• The Punchline modifies the original dialogue to mimic contemporary political buzzwords. Instead of Ron's classic reply ("Believe me, Professor, I've been asking myself the same question for six years"), the subtitles read: "professor that is antisemitic, russophobic, and possibly too woke."

Yeah, I don't hate this. Sure it's trivial but some of it is kinda fun. Farage and Jenrick in particular are being nicely parodied.

It's brilliant writing. The bathtub is introduced in the first film, and is used to save his life from the toilet bomb in the second film. It's lethal weapons version of Chekhov's Gun.

I know when WW2 started. I'm talking about the current rise in the Far Right. I am well aware that fascism has been around for a long time but I would argue the Far Right is in a much more prevalent and stronger now than at any time since WW2.

It's no coincidence that the rise of the Far Right and Nazism is happening as those who actually fought the Nazis are nearly all gone now. Lest we forget? Well, an awful lot of people forgot.
