I'll be real, the very premise of Seven Havens has kind of drained the enthusiasm I have for ATLA, at least for anything new. I still love the original series and Korra, but the whole, "BTW, this all ends in a Mad Max wasteland" thing makes new stuff feel kind of pointless.

I mean I get the joke but this is literally what they did in the NES era, naming a death spell things like, "RUB" or "XXXX" instead of death, or calling a character "KO" instead of "Dead" when they reached 0HP. Admittedly that was in part also because of the 4-character limit, but still.

Theory: Kingdom Hearts 4 actually has the cartoony art style, and it just looks hyper-realistic in the released footage because it's taking place in the "real" world and Sora's magic is just making him match that art style the same way he looked like a monster in the Monsters Inc. world.

This exactly. One of the best pieces of GMing advice I ever saw was in one of the Dresden RPG rulebooks, and it amounted to, "Don't roll the dice unless both success and failure would be interesting." If a bad dice roll means the plot stops, then you don't roll the dice.

It occurs to me that I have the exact opposite problem as everyone else with Final Fantasy XIII. The game loses me when it hits the wide-open world, and I just kind of ignored most of the non-essential content when you get to that point. It was just so unfocused that nothing drew me in.

Any time an attorney or other source has asked me for a real correction, the initial email details what was factually wrong, and why. Because the point is to correct the inaccuracy as quickly as possible. They don't give vagaries like "so much, I can't tell you everything."

My hot take: A game system's power should be put toward making new and interesting gameplay systems that were impossible on older hardware, not graphics. I'd rather have a game with okay graphics and innovative gameplay than be able to count the pores on Generic Shooter Protag's face.
