FWIW, I had to change my Gmail account back in 2006, (you know, when you had to be personally invited by someone to get a Gmail account?), because I kept getting email chains between a soldier serving in Iraq and his wife.

The cool thing about academia is that you can mostly create your own schedule. The bad thing is that sometimes you're working on Saturday morning.

Just a friendly reminder... read the book "In the Footsteps of Mr. Kurtz." It's about Mobutu and the Congo. It explains how he ran his dictatorship. Spoiler alert: Paul Manafort, Trump's original campaign manager, was a lobbyist for Mobutu. They're running the same game plan. Read books, people.

$5,000 for someone working 40 hours/week is $2.50/hour. I bet if they found a way for hourly workers to get paid more for their work, they'd be much more inclined to vote for them. I guess Patronage is only Capitalism if it's from the Trump region of France. Otherwise it's just Sparkling Socialism.

240 million x $5k = $1.2 trillion. Didn't know he was sitting on that kind of extra cash. Is he planning to liquidate all of Elon and the other billionaires' wealth and spread it around? Seems like a strange anti-socialist/communist strategy. But, they don't really know what those words mean anyway.

We've said it before and we'll say it again. These boat strikes are murder, plain and simple. Extrajudicial killing is prohibited under federal law and international human rights law. There is no bona fide armed conflict that could justify these actions.

This is exactly what I claimed and showed in my JMHS paper 10 years ago. Agencies participating in the jail enforcement model can't inquire about immigration status until someone is being booked. So, overzealous officers will come up with any flimsy reason to arrest. share.google/MR2F3dfnHCAC...

I'd bet nobody in the Trump family is familiar with the history of the Batista, Somoza, etc. families, or, even Tsar Nicholas or King Louis. Yet, they are curious (oblivious?) to the reasons why people are starting to think socialism and revolution are a better alternative. Read books people.

Difference in tactics. The Pope wants to address "push" factors of migration, i.e. making their origin countries better places to live. The current administration wants to change "pull" factors, i.e. making the US a terrible place to live. FWIW, the former helps everyone, the latter hurts everyone
