Mike Brennan @mikebre.bsky.social · 21/06/2025An idea I find compelling is that most (almost all?) addiction, whether drugs, alcohol, sex, food, etc., are attempts to self-medicate. Unless the underlying trauma, physical, emotional, mental, is dealt with, relief from the addiction will be hard and temporary. And that can't be done with drugs. 020

Is it true? Is it necessary (or useful)? Is it kind? I think this is worth thinking upon, especially now. 010

I disagree. Speaking as someone who marched in formation A LOT, it is hard to stay that out of step for that long. 011
