This weekend I hiked from Pine Grove Furnace to Caledonia, connecting my footpath to the PenMar border, as well as hitting my first disconnected 100 unique miles of the Appalachian Trail. I am feeling so ready to take on the Shenandoah Valley in 2 weeks!!!

Snek is fren 🐍 This was my first wild snake encounter while hiking. Didn’t even see this big boy til she snapped out at me as I walked past. Being a black rat snake, which are nom-venomous and generally docile to humans, i wonder if she had a nest nearby. Or if she saw the snake on my arm 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Take Back The Night was the very first org that I ever got personally connected to almost ten years ago. Usually I do my “lone wolf” bs of just showing up, but TBTN took me into their family and have held me ever since. It’s been a genuine honor to have documented so many of their marches.
