Trump doesn't have the authority to hold Snap benefits, and the Dems just gave up a huge mandate, all for the PROMISE of a bill to approve ACA subsidies that should be there now. This is the proverbial equivalent of the dems stepping on a rake, and then smuggly looking like they won the day.

No, It's pretty strictly a condition of capitalism. Selfishness is one part of the human experience, but that's different from a system built to lean to our worst compulsions. I don't think its utopian to think we should change our culture away from rugged individualism, to a more kind communal one.

I suppose that is possible, but at least if the philosophy of our society was: "let's do what's in the best interest of the majority to facilitate a happy, healthy life" as opposed to "You're on your own, and success is measure of your quality as a person" we could balance toward just ends easier.

I don't think anyone claims that these things are the product of capitalism (scarcity of resources???) rather that the incentive structure of capitalism is an innately selfish, and destructive way of balancing them amongst the people. The world prior was worse, yes, but we can still do much better.

Oh snap! Magrix caught poor lil' @monochrome.mephit.me in his wings... the big guy is keeping him nice and snug against his fat belly...

In a dark cave, a very large, fat dragon named "magrix" is holding a skunk tightly against his belly with his wings. around the two are a collection of Kobolds who're all laughing and entertained by the ordeal. There's a close up shot of the skunk in question, who's looking up at Magrix with a bashfully eager expression.

My OC Mikar as a hero in a marvel heroes, or League of Legends type game

Depiction of a large, obese anthropomorphic lion man wielding a monk's spade and dressed in robes similar to that of shaolin Buddhist monks. The abilities are meant to be sort of like those that you'd find in an MOBA or marvel legends type hero shooter. He'd fill the more front liner, bruiser archetype, or a tank role with a supportive edge

Top left is just a standard swing of his monk spade, but after charging the crescent blade end with golden lunar energy.,

Middle is Mikar casting a spell to embolden his allies with the memories of jovial fun with friends, and the feeling of a full meal. It inspires hope, and helps to ground those affected from movement impairing effects, as well as granting resistance to being unwillingly moved. After all, in times past when Mikar filled his friend's bellies, it felt as if they couldn't move! (Doesn't necessitate weight gain, more of a magical effect.),

The two at the bottom left are a pole vault + butt slam combo. Using his immense weight, he can squish those unfortunate enough to be beneath him, and knock anyone else around up into the air against their control.
