I've started to add BeOS to Infinite Mac - you can see the first few versions on infinitemac.org/?filter=beos Not having been much of a user back in the day, I'm looking for suggestions of software to make sure to include, or pointers to canonical […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]

Infinite Mac now has a built-in screenshot function, making it easier to do a full-fidelity capture of what's on the emulated Mac's screen. Enjoy the jaggies! (thanks to @michaelsteeber for suggesting this feature)

I've switched over Infinite Mac's classic Mac emulation to @twvd's awesome Snow, which unblocks A/UX emulation: infinitemac.org/?filter=aux There's a behind-the-scenes blog post at blog.persistent.info/2026/09/infini… detailing this and other site updates.

The Macintosh Garden is an amazing resource, but it can give Russian nesting doll vibes when installing software - apps inside of disk images, inside of StuffIt archives, etc. Inspired by @nulleric's What the .SIT?! site (bluescsi.com/what-the-sit) […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]

I'm starting to add A/UX to Infinite Mac (thanks to the awesome Snow emulator). An early version (with a few releases) is available at infinitemac.org/?filter=aux Would appreciate any leads for 1.0 or 1.0.1 install media (or pre-installed images), and […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]

The nice thing about making your own weather app is that you can make features just for yourself. I'd always wanted to know every morning if work (nominally 45 miles away, but an entirely different climate) had different weather, and now I can. Blog post with […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]

I’d spotted a few “Infinite HDs” lurking in screenshots in David Pogue’s _Apple: The First 50 Years_ - it was great to see this callout at the end.

Missing your classic Mac collection this holiday? I’ve added a custom on-screen keyboard to Infinite Mac, to make it easier to type and use shortcuts with the device in your pocket.

Playing around with adding BlueSCSI Toolbox protocol support to DingusPPC. Though somewhat roundabout, the end result is that you can transfer files in and out of more emulated machine types on Infinite Mac. As a bonus, it also makes the Macintosh Garden library […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]

Classic Mac's OS file system innovations (resource forks, metadata) were often lost in transit when the Internet took off in 1995, and the same is still true 30 years later in Infinite Mac. I figured out a workaround using modern macOS's built-in .zip archives […] [Original post on hachyderm.io]
