Cont. If it's less data, some quality is lost. 1440p still get compressed, but the original upload would contain the same information as the 1080p video, but more of it will be duplicate. So as long as youtube is sending more data in 1440p than 1080p, it should just by probability be higher quality.

Higher bit rate = better quality. You can check this by watching a youtube video you know the original file size of, then checking how much data is actually sent by youtube to you by right clicking the video and opening "Stats for nerds." Cont.

Yeap, it does happen. It's classic short-sighted mismanagement, basing decisions on one downside, ignoring other factors and consequences of said decisions. It gets worse as the non-overqualified get promoted, lowering the leadership standards further. Departmental idiocracy by exclusion of talent.

It's not that it was seen as a form of lead, but that it shared some of leads qualities. And it wasn't a general word for graphite, but for mineral graphite. The word plumbago is derived from 'plumbum' (lead) and 'agere' (to resemble) and is also a name of a flower, which definitely isn't lead.

And to be even more pointlessly pedantic, 5 metres of flesh & bone, but that's only one of the dimensions, what about depth and width? If it's 1 micrometre² x 5 metres, that's only 0.005 millimetres³. \end of pedantic joke, you are correct. The velocity of chainsaws is frightening.

I agree with the statement, but not the math. If the deceleration is instant 100% to 0% at the the 0.5s mark, you'd be right. If the deceleration is linear, you divide speed by 2 and multiply it with the breaking time, giving 2.5m. Anywhere between 0m and 5m if it's on a curve.

I agree with this sentiment. Using the argument "There are bigger problems than this" is ONLY valid IF you ALSO work on solving that bigger problem AND solving the other problem stands in the way of solving the bigger one.

Sadly, there isn't much there for the US, because US laws on digital ownership are... worse than non-existent. But anyone in the EU or UK can try doing something about it. GaaS needs to end, for consumer protection reasons and because almost all GaaS game are going to be killed one day. Fuck that.

Games as a service shouldn't be a thing and propagates the other problems. GaaS prevents piracy from balancing things out. Macro payments? Gambling? P2W? All solvable if not for GaaS. P2P early? Only always online can ever prevent piracy. Non-US attempts to fix it here: www.stopkillinggames.com
