Been spoiling myself on a bit of the soundtrack lately even though I'm still not done with the first game and it's soooo good. Not that I dislike the first game's OST but I feel like most Picrosses I've played have very eclectic soundtracks that aren't fun to listen to for such long sessions

Got curious how modern Exp. Share mechanics would work under older gen "using multiple Pokemon in battle splits the experience across them" mechanics and the answer is that it's basically just the Gen 1 Exp. All? Awesome? Is this awesome? Will I win the genwunner crowd with this one

I only learned today that there's a way to dynamically set the text for options in multichoice lists instead of having to hardcode them and it is really tempting to take a look at all the YES/NO prompts I have so far and see if I can do anything silly with them

Is this more or less confusing

I don't know if people are still arguing about the Exp. Share in the year 2026 but this ROM hack's take on it might end up becoming "modern Exp. Share exists but is locked behind postgame" purely because I think that might be the funniest thing to do

I kind of understand why most things that are numbered stop numbering themselves at some point after 10. iPhone 18 sounds absurd. That's too many

In fairness I think a good number of the RPGs that actually made it out of Japan in that time are pretty lauded in their own right. Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, the works.... I imagine 7 caught on specifically because the aesthetic and console made it seem more "mature"

Coworker saw me playing on my Ayn Thor during my break and asked me "is that the iPhone 18?". I was so taken aback by the idea that iPhone numbers had gotten that high

Not even in a cool Toby Fox "I dreamt about the ending of a game I need to make" way or any other interesting new scope-creepy ideas. It's all really mundane suggestions like "have you considered whether single-use TMs have any merits?"

At the point of single-minded devotion in my life where I'm getting feedback for my ROM hack from my dreams if anybody is wondering how it's going

I don't think I have it in me to make a compelling list of 9 games that made me but it did get me to consider the idea of "what is the most influential game to you that you haven't actually played" which was an interesting thought. I might come back to this one later

I didn't know this game had figurines??? Learning... I do have a lot of memories with this game but I always spent more time with DS
