midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Will have to track this one down. Do you know if it's streaming somewhere? Might have to take a chance on the DVD. Interestingly, I think The Shining borrows from Burnt Offerings. 100
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 21/08/2026I remember reading the Cheever story in an English lit short stories collection ages ago, but only got around to watching the movie a few years ago. It definitely has a vibe that leaves an impression, and I intend to rewatch at some point. 011
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 11/07/2026We had the Funk and Wagnalls set when I was growing up. Haven't seen or thought of that name for a long long time. 000
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 09/06/2026I think it's now a legit concern that electing "another Fetterman" fake Democrat is part of the official Republican playbook, whether it really is in this case or not. 020
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 09/06/2026Ah, so that's what the video from the Clams Casino song "I'm God" is from. 000
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 03/06/2026I watched it for the first time just last year and really enjoyed it. Followed it up with Ladyhawke, which had a great theme song, but not as good of a movie overall. 010
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 03/06/2026This movie is crazy in the best of ways. I think I have it on Blu-ray, as it's very rewatch worthy. 010
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 06/05/2026If you're willing to go beyond the excellent Sherlock Holmes films, also check out his villainous role in We're No Angels. Such a gem of a movie. 021
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 06/05/2026And they go by so fast it can be hard to believe you just watched 14 of 'em. 110
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 05/05/2026I'm long overdue for a rewatch; I especially want to revisit the Lucy Butler episodes. 020
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 05/05/2026Was just talking about Millennium the other day. Still a shame it never got a revival for more seasons. 3100
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 26/01/2026I have often compared them as well. King even mentioned the novel (listed as "particularly important") in Danse Macabre, and given that Burnt Offerings came out first, I think it's reasonable to assume it significantly influenced him when writing The Shining. I love both. 110
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 25/01/2026They are. I had been going through the Lew Archer novels over the last several years on audiobook, and finished the last one last year, then was a bit sad because there would be no more. FYI, Jonathan Kellerman writes just like him, altho not as good and Over the Edge was way too long. 010
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 16/01/2026Pretty sure I had a subscription for this year. 120
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 10/01/2026And that's Catherine Duke (Khandi Alexander) of NewsRadio! 110
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 09/12/2025Tried to watch this one a few months ago as one of the few Kubrick films I hadn't seen yet, but bailed about 30 minutes in because it felt like a generic Old Hollywood movie. Then read that Kubrick wasn't the original director and didn't have complete control, so it kinda all made sense. 110
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 14/08/2025I can't remember if I've seen this one. But I have seen DiCillo's Johnny Suede a few times and have it on DVD. I've been meaning to check out more of his stuff. 100
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 06/08/2025Your posts are making my "to find and to watch" list way too long. 020

midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 19/04/2025Where are you located? I have a 16V that I've been fixing up. Not ready to part with it right now, but a 944 is exactly the car I'd want next. 000
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 01/03/2025Right, isn't it literally their job to prevent something like this? And then the FBI's job to handle it on our own soil. They both failed us big time. 010
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 21/02/2025The "let a successful CEO-man try running the country" idea was appealing when I was a child, but then I grew up... 010
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 26/01/2025That's really nice. What is the synth we're looking at? It's been over a year since I've recorded anything, so I'm thinking of getting back into it too. Perfect time since winter is truly here at this point, so am inside most of the time anyway. 020

midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 09/11/2024And the Democrats are just going to roll over and let this happen. I wouldn't mind seeing some lawsuits from their side THIS TIME. 010
midnight phantom @midnightphantom.bsky.social · 09/11/2024And we're just going to voluntarily let this happen, apparently. Nice. 010
