Might as well throw up all 4 of the images from last night's astrophotography session! These are all built from 150 4-second exposures per image, under Bortle 2 or 3 (depending on who you ask) skies. Alt texts describe what's in each image. Super proud of the last one.

The Centaurus pointers (the two bright stars to the left) and Crux/Southern Cross (the 5ish stars to the right with the big black patch next to it), set against the milky way. The black patch is called the Coal Sack, and the faintly visible pink patch to the bottom right is the Running Chicken nebula. This is a sight that a lot of people in the northern hemisphere won't ever see themselves unless they travel, since above ~26° north latitude it never rises above the horizon. So if you're in texas or parts of florida you might catch it.

Sagittarius (to the left) and the milky way, with 4 very visible nebulae - the Lagoon (bright pink in the middle on the bottom of the frame), Triffid (fainter blue-and-pink a little further to the right) , the Omega and Eagle nebulae on the right hand edge of the frame about halfway up. The center of the galaxy is the dark area in the bottom-right (dust bands block out the starlight) so technically you're looking at Sagittarius A*, our galaxy's resident supermassive black hole.

This image is from exposures that I thought were screwed up but it turned out that the central area of the photos was fine. That bright pink cloud to the left is the Carina Nebula. In the middle of it there's a star that's been throwing out material, it forms something called the Homunculus nebula, but that's way too small to see.

The final image is the most surprising. That yellow, pink and blue cloud to the right is the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex, which is not something I thought I'd be able to capture untracked. It's the closest star nursery (what they call the places stars are born) to Earth. The pink blob all the way to the upper left is (i think) Sharpless 2-9.

Aside from making dongs, we also dabble in astrophotography. Took this at a dark sky site we visited tonight. This is from 150 stacked 4 second exposures. Sagittarius is on the left, the Lagoon and Triffid nebulae are on the bottom edge near the middle.

Another design we picked up from Erotic Effect was this little guy, Archie! He only came as a physical sculpt though so we did some photogrammetry with an app, got a mesh, tidied him up a bit, printed him and made a mold. Behold, ARCHIE!!

Hi, we've confirmed with someone we know who is in Canada (Alberta, specifically) that the tariff is not showing up for Canadian customs. If you're not using a VPN, they suggested that it could be Chrome (if you're using it) defaulting your position to Washington, so it's something to check.

Minor disaster in the workshop: the heater wire on the filament 3D printer broke *again*, literally weeks after I just repaired it last. So it's off the shelf, on the bench, getting a toolhead+board upgrade (Nitehawk-36). Meaning large Djinn v2 and our new boy will be delayed a little bit.
