Yikes. The Oregon SOS page to check registration status doesn't appear to be working. After entering your voter data, it sends you to a committee/candidate filing page. And they're closed for the holiday, so it may not get fixed before the deadline tomorrow. #OregonSOS #OregonElections

If only the LB puppet/AI thingy had the deep, smooth voice from the original ad where the guy can't say it. That might be slightly more bearable.

So many creatives will never get a cent for their stolen work. I'm glad you at least have the vindication of that settlement.

Let's not forget hpw essential before and after-school care is for working parents, too! It's nearly impossible to find a good FT job that will accommodate drop off + pick up of kids. Schools need to be fundes to provide free/low cost wraparound care as part of the working parent solution.

Agreed! No one had done bullet time like that. It was truly remarkable. I went back to see it again the very next day.

Imagine if we all took those funds and gave half to our local libraries and the other half to local public broadcast stations?

Sometimes you want to make sure a streaming app works on a new device so you hit play on Murderbot and rewatch the first 6 episodes in one sitting. This show deserves more eyeballs on these short, funny, space hippy + snarky synth episodes! Thanks for creating it (+ Sanctuary Moon) @marthawells.com

Sanctioned stories (not fanfic) were written about how hot Tattoine was because of the two suns and how people stayed indoors, below ground. Then Lucas adds in all those people and CGI creatures in the update and prequels invalidating all of it? Nah.

Just finished this, and it was <chef's kiss>! The characters, the world(s) building, the dialogue, the snark and the adventure made this an absolute page turner to read (before bed, in the morning, at a Dr appt and any other sliver of time you have to get to the next chapter)! Cozy In Spaaaace!

Moss'd in Space is a cozy sci-fi that follows Torian Razner, an ex-smuggler, as she purchases an alien starship covered in moss--only to find out the moss is both sentient, and has severe abandonment issues. Check it out! us.macmillan.com/books/978125...

The East Wing was on secured property. The Kennedy Center is in a public place, so folks can show up en mass and protest, like the Hands Off the Arts event tomorrow. (Hopefully, that's not too late!) High profile celebrities who have performed there and can rally supporters should lead the charge!

If Kaiser insurance won't cover something, the Kaiser clinic doctor won't prescribe or order it, regardless of what's best for the patient.

Thanks for the fight, Val. Of note, here in Eugene folks with Kaiser insurance have to see doctors at the one Kaiser clinic and use Kaiser's pharmacy bc everything else is out of network. It's the corporate stranglehold kind of conflict of interest, definitely not in the patient's best interest!

Since "Come From Away" came to streaming TV, I've watched it on 9/11 + always cry for Hannah + all those who lost loved ones that day. Sad to find she passed away last year, but so grateful she + the other plane people shared their stories for this powerful show. www.theatermania.com/news/hannah-...

The film is a quick way to get the gist and has a great cast (Billy Murray, young Saoirose Ronan). The book series is very good, but will take you longer to work through, naturally.

Have mercy. Haitian workers do crucial jobs here, often at low pay. And still many send back a little money to family members in Haiti to keep them from starving. It's 3x cruel to send these workers away: for their US employers/clients, for themselves and for their families.

Ultimately the people who voted for him are to blame. People who didn't vote or who voted 3rd party helped. And maybe the people who advised Biden to run again. The 72M Harris voters and people who did everything possible to get Harris elected are definitely not to blame for this literal crap.

Oh, and do buy an ad in the program to tell them they're amazing or to promote your business if you have one. Sponsor $ helps immensely, especially for shoestring companies without a fundraising team or children's theaters that offer scholarships.

A social safety net catches people left behind by the wealthy. Who get laid off while the CEO departs in a yacht. Who labor nonstop under high stress until their bodies fail. Who survive domestic violence, who lose the farm, who suffer accidents or disasters. Who tradition calls The Least of These.

These are questions we asked the sales people, and these were the answers we got. Sharing my POV not to spread false info, but to represent the recent experience for a middle income consumer who is EV-curious but not knowledgeable. Car buying is the worst already. Old cars, incl EVs, can be risky.

Midlife Orphan @midlifeorphan.bsky.social · 04/06/2026
It wasn't a risk we were willing to take. The vehicles available were over 100k miles and that was the age after which it would need an expensive battery replacement. No one could tell us when it would happen. Buying a used car is risky enough. We wanted one we could get an extended warranty on.

Midlife Orphan @midlifeorphan.bsky.social · 04/06/2026
In our price range were pre-2017 vehicles with 100k+ miles. They were all out of battery warranty at that point.
