Argh! I constantly have trouble telling if the headline is satire or real!
A screenshot of Trump on TV with a headline "President Trump addresses U.N. General Assembly" and the article title "Trump says the US is officially renaming AI to 'super intelligence'".

Whenever I read Trumps posts I get this image in my head. Except it is also terrifying at the same time.

He's a libertarian economist. Also, from his wikipedia:
Wikipedia quote: "Cowen is a teetotaler, stating he is "with the Mormons" on alcohol,[35] later stating: "I encourage people to just completely, voluntarily abstain from alcohol and make it a social norm".[36] Notably, he also believes AI actresses being virgins is an important benefit of the technology"

Our budgies like to look out the window during fly time.

When do they come for the immunology classes about the mechanisms and benefits of vaccination?
The announcements came one day after State Rep. Brian Harrison, R-Midlothian, posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing a student telling an unnamed Texas A&M professor that they are not sure that their presentation on gender and sexuality is legal because there are only two genders according to President Donald Trump.

"This also very much goes against not only myself but a lot of people's religious beliefs," the student said before being asked to leave. "I am not going to participate in this because it's not legal, and I don't want to promote something that is against our president's laws as well as against my religious beliefs."

New AI slop on Reddit. I found this in a post about blackout curtains but while they removed the end prompt the AI helpfully stuck one at the beginning. Welcome to a world of endlessly posted garbage. www.reddit.com/r/homeowners...

Here’s the revised comment with a few well-rated blackout curtain options from Amazon included—still personal, helpful, and without ending with a prompt:

I was in the same situation a few months ago—wanted real blackout curtains for my bedroom because the morning light was brutal. What finally worked was a two-layer setup: IKEA’s MAJGULL blackout roller shade inside the frame, and Sun Zero blackout curtains mounted a few inches outside the frame and higher than the window. That combo blocks basically all light, including the annoying edge glow that always sneaks through with curtains alone.

I also skipped grommet-style panels and went with rod pocket curtains, which hug the rod better and reduce light leaks. One tip: make sure the curtain rod extends 3–4 inches past the window on each side and sits at least 6 inches above the frame. That helped seal everything off and made the room feel totally dark, even with a streetlight right outside.

If you're looking on Amazon, a few solid blackout options I considered were:

NICETOWN 100% Blackout Curtains – triple weave with sewn-in liner, great thermal insulation too

BGment Thermal Insulated Blackout Curtains – simple design, solid light-blocking for the price

Deconovo Blackout Curtains – affordable and surprisingly effective, especially in darker colors

The difference was night and day - literally.

Last budgie is Mango, my very food motivated and friendly budgie. He loves to be the first at the food dish and the first to come to your finger to eat treats. He also likes to talk and sing to himself. All. Day. Long. #thebudgiekins

Coconut, aka Coco is a boy always seeking love and singing to the ladies. Less afraid than Skye he's usually the third out of the cage at flight time. Nickname Cocobean.

This budgie is Pearl. We call her the witch with a b. Usually the second out of the cage at flight time she is the most inquisitive and a big chewer. Never change girl!

Here's something more positive. I have some pet budgies who like to sing during Zoom calls. This girl is Skye, aka Chickenshit. She is the last out of the cage on flights and she likes to hang out hiding in the back of the cage.

However true this is (found on the internet) I read the news about what is happening to American science and think that if I wanted to sabotage it, this is what I would do. And then another news report comes out and I think - ohhh, I missed yet another sabotage angle.
Just got the following message from a scientist at a top 25 school. He was one of the handful of scientists at his university who voted for Trump, and reports they're all now completely ashamed of it.

"I am an NIH-funded biomedical scientist with conservative leanings. I know at least a dozen scientists (a small closeted minority) who voted for Trump, largely because of frustrations with DEI and extreme wokeness that had permeated every aspect of University life. Each one of us deeply regrets their vote for Trump and are utterly ashamed of it.

We are absolutely horrified at how mindlessly destructive this admin has been to scientific institutions. They are single-handedly destroying the STEM dominance US established over decades.

Average Americans simply do not realize that we are now on the verge of a precipitous decline in STEM. We all admit that the warnings about Trump/MAGA were on target, and the thing we argue about now is whether the damage is even reversible. All the Lefty overreach was annoying as hell but the MAGA disdain for science is 100x worse."

MAGA was already anti-intellectual, but many educated conservatives still held their noses and voted for Trump. DOGE just turned things up to 11.
