The rise in retailers using gig apps to hire workers as freelancers rather than staff is extremely worrying. Shop workers end up losing out on significant employment rights. It's good to see these firms listening to our advice and ending their use of the practice.

Musk’s latest intervention is objectively hilarious but the problem of a hideous human using his enormous wealth & power to promote lies & liars in the U.K., despite having no links to or other interest in the country, remains acute.

Train drivers' safety is ASLEF's top priority - like many public-facing roles, drivers risk harassment from passengers. We're calling for safe access to toilets and Dignity for Drivers and all workers this #WorldToiletDay so that everyone can be safe at work.

I'm anxious about going back to use the passenger toilets, especially at night.

The rail industry should prioritise the safety and health of all transport workers. This #WorldToiletDay we're calling for access to safe, clean toilets and the time to use them. We'll be working with the industry to achieve Dignity for Drivers.

Before privatisation the companies seemed to care about staff who worked for them, now it's all about performance indicators, numbers and shareholders
