I'm at the National Tramway Museum at Crich this Saturday (22 August) to sign copies of my book, The Great Tramways Conspiracy, and chat to people about the issues raised in the book. The museum's wonderful collection of historic archives was a crucial source during my research.

Yesterday the UK released its new transport strategy: Better Connected. When the public consultation started the Department for Transport inspired stories about a resurgence of trams. Now the new mantra is places, people and partnership. Take out the pees and there’s little of substance left.
