I haven't seen much of that kind of dickishness, but that may just be my particular feed. I think it has lessened since the migration from Twitter brought in people with different cultures. I have seen people from Bluesky warn about missing alt text. But you gotta do what reduces your aggravation.

I know nothing about software details; I see them both from a user perspective. If Bluesky succeeds in building an open protocol, will people have the same problem of choosing a server? Will a big guy dominate the space, as Google gmail has a large share of the email space?

This is why people left Twitter for Spoutible and then Bluesky. If you don't like your Mastodon instance you can move to another instance and you still have your follows and followers (in principle. I have not tried this). That's the point of an open decentralized protocol.

There's Mastodon and the ActivityPub protocol. I don't know why so many people bounced off Mastodon. Maybe the confusion of trying to choose a server. Once that's done, it's very much like Bluesky. (Or that other one we all left.)

I don't see that it's necessary to start a new save. All the new stuff is available to you. I have several saves. I cycle through them every once in a while and I always have to figure out where I am in each one. #NMS #NoMansSky

It's explained in the book. He can open the shutters on the sun side or the earth side and the gravity will affect their trajectory. It's a bit hand-wavey, but it's fairly reasonable.

Hauling trash in No Man's Sky and disposing of it at industrial waste sites is more fun than I expected, but it would be nice to have a topographical map to plot efficient routes through mountainous terrain to avoid so much spillage of cargo. #NMS #NoMansSky

I use an autonomous mining unit. It takes an hour of real time to fill, but it doesn't deplete the resource or leave a gaping hole. You can use it over and over again.

Took a mission in #NoMansSky -- find a missing person. Found them in a trading post that was half buried in a mountain. Saw their marker wandering around in the rock. Blasted a tunnel to them and completed the mission. Then I back-filled the tunnel and re-buried them in the rock.

#NMS #NoMansSky Please, when you're finished excavating, fill in your holes. Use the terrain manipulator's restore function. Don't just tear up the ground; tunnel to the target, take the prize, back out and back fill. As the golfers say, "replace your divots." It's just common courtesy.
