A good rule of thumb is that if you see that the ba*st**l type guys are running with the story that’s your sign to think maybe this isn’t cool.

But hey I still we’ll see players come out and change the culture eventually. s/o to the WPBL where out lesbians played alongside straight women, and the sky did not fall. 2/2

Good morning! Reminder that we still have zero “out” active MLB players on this National Coming Out Day, and no I don’t believe that clickbait story about two Dodger teammates making the rounds on social media. As far as I can tell it’s been an opportunity for more homophobic “jokes.” 1/2

Today there was a SABR panel featuring three WPBL players. I had the opportunity to tell my story - couldn’t play LL as a kid, packing my childhood glove, getting it autographed in Springfield. I was able to thank the players directly today. The entire Springfield experience healed something in me.

Some are saying it’s because she was just on the Padres&Playdates podcast and told their “how we met” story

I hate it when you’re right 😆

She’s just one of those self-actualized types, imo. Her efforts have previously gone “all in” to Harlem arts. How bad can she be, Chris???

I’m all in on her cornball vibe, not sorry 😆

Sorry but I will not be changing my current opinion that the Padres have the most badass owner in sports. That video Kwanza posted last night was perfect 🔥

That’s part of your charm! 😆

I don’t think Jose and Kwanza will change this. They had a pretty fun month as owners.

It makes me like them more, tbh.

Our thanks to you and the crew, Jeff. The stadium experience is much fun!

I’d love that! There’s still a 4th inning meetup that Ken (redthetrucker) has kept going. It’s way less of Twitter/X meetup than it used to be. So yeah let’s do it next year!

One silver lining to this season is that I think baseball and Padres bluesky is pretty good, and I appreciate that y’all are here to talk & vent with.

He's presumed MAGA based on wearing the "Let's go Brandon" tshirt and relatives who post MAGA

He just needs one hit to get going.

Manny is actually really good & sweet interacting with kids but I also think he probably likes to compartmentalize to keep his focus, so to speak.

Michelle Frost @michellefrost.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Dennis Lin's article this morning says that Manny spoke up (in July) about children around the team being a distraction. This was most likely aimed at Stammen's kids because they were always out on the field pregame tossing & kicking balls around with the guys on Sundays when I was there.

They did (the Devine Gospel guys were in touch with the ringleader). They’re basically casual fans and most had a connection to KUSI.

The 1984 Padres team coming back to win three straight against Cubs is our “keep the faith” origin story. The players on that team were energized by the fans who supported them at their lowest point. Our fanbase is still incredibly supportive. It’s on the players to match that energy tonight 🙏

I don’t understand why we let him get away with this. If we were a proper country, he’d be impeached and thrown in jail. It’s insane what we’ve put up with from him.

They should break the pattern and have Solarte do it.
