Exactly been thinking perhaps tax rates should go up / down instead of interest rates, at least the country benefits from the hikes, rather than banks. And those that are less well off get taxed at a lower rate… so like people with money might slow spending… regardless if they have a home or not.

Righto so almost 700k unemployed is probably enough to start dropping interest rates… these are people’s lives not percentages and statistics. If people lose their jobs, livelyhoods, families, they should sue the reserve bank.. absolutely ridiculous metrics to curb inflation. Must be another way.
