I think God walks
in the forest. He is
the secret animal
we sense
has just been lapping
stream water
with his sticky tongue
who retreats
to a hidden glade
at the falling
our footsteps
and whose gaze
follows us as we
wander wistfully
our weary
paths. How we long
to catch a glance
of Him, to see every
beauty in every
light, yet He
must reserve
some parts of the woods
for His own wild
heart: I would, too, if I
were God, delighter
in all the secret
and hidden majestic
Life.
