Hi Gwen! I think they're only looking at candidates who are in the USA timezones, but I'll pass along your work anyways! :)

Any production artists looking for a full time gig atm? Have a friend looking for mid to senior 2d concept artists & illustrators for mobile games- animation production art or game production art portfolios would be a fit to forward!

Hi Brian! Here are some farm vehicles for an Oxford University Press book I worked on a little while ago. I linked my site with the case study if you want to read more about it. :) (www.heymichelle.me/childrens-bo...)

Life Pro Tip: Delete all of your streaming services and get a DVD player and a library card. It's saved us over $100/month, cut down on tv time and what we do watch is much more deliberate now. Small bonus, gives a little Blockbuster hit of nostalgia picking out movies in person.

Also, very funny you also got yours from your mum too! Haha

Ours has a great game collection which we use too. Also, most libraries use the TLN library catalog app, so you “order” books in your library network. I’ve basically stopped buying novels, which saves money, but also a lot of having to figure out what to do with all the books after I read them!

I did this too! My parents gave me their old blu ray player- I’ve been really enjoying special features again! Bonus points if you get Libby/ hoopla and kanopy!

Sad. My mum worked there for around 25 years, but laid off when the unions collapsed. I’ll really miss the HBC stuff, it’s a subtle nod to canadianness for me living stateside. Maybe some magical Canadian company can rebuy it at a bargain price and bring it back to its former glory.

March is chilly in Michigan, and I'm impatient for spring to come! Here's a painting I made last night of Link. (I'm also impatient and hoping there will be a Switch 2: Legend of Zelda Windwaker re-release). 🤞 There is a lot of impatience and hoping happening with me. #illustration #kidlitart

20-25. This last one we had around 30, which would be “oversold”, even though it’s a free event. It makes me feel good because a lot of people come and enjoy, but I also get to pick the themes, costumes, models… and have the timer if I need an extra 30s, 🤣

After Covid, and two small kids I felt like I lost all of the community that had taken so long to build. All the art groups disappeared, so I approached my library and now host quarterly costumed life drawing events there for the community. It’s really helped me feel connected! #KidLitArt

Agree on sticking to deadlines! I have a bunch of non-client ones that can be more flexible, but unless something terrible happens, I try to stick to those like glue.

For me — taking a break and refocusing helps. My natural inclination is to become frustrated and want to work manically, but sometimes you can get back on track by taking a day off, coming back fresh and not being so hard on myself. #KidLitArt
