I liked the one that was a one-eyed tree. I was sad when they killed him off. I was glad when I got a chance to slip in a new one. I'm pretty sure they've killed that one off too.

The original guy was called Great Medphyl, I don't even know if my guy ever got a name.
Or maybe those aliens call all Green Lanterns Great Medphyls?

For light hair, reverse that reasoning: you want to keep most of the surface clear and mostly only have lines on the few bits that are in the shade. Again, those few lines have to be of a length and direction and swoop that describes flow.

If you decide you want some highlights in your black hair for volume, keep it to a few touches and make them in a direction that describes flow. Keep a lot of flat black surface.

Black hair can be very economical even in less abstract styles, because you can often just decide it has swallowed all light and it's all in the the general shape.

Hair can easily become a huge time sink where you become obsessed with rendering every single strand. I see someone else also told you something like this, but begin with blocking out a few great masses that give shape and direction to the whole head. In some styles, you're done already.
