For your viewing pleasure: a small clip of the first episode of Noggin the Nog. Ran on the BBC from 1959-1965, and again in 1982. The series was never broadcasted in Canada, but several books found their way to our libraries and bookstores. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jisq...

Fascinating statistic! I knew that Onslow had a good career in the IL, but didn't know much about his MLB career. As it happens, his HR total was higher than that of his brother, Jack, who later briefly managed the White Sox.

Snuffy Smith's replacement of Barney Google as the main protagonist is similar to what happened with Nancy and Fritzi Ritz. This comic strip evolution was more unusual, however. Barney Google was a household name for decades. Songs were even made about him, including the 1923 ditty by Billy Rose.

Very interesting! I knew of the link between Fountain and Billy the Kid, but little else.

I'm here. Strongly doubt I'll use Bluesky very much, but I'll post things occasionally.
