First Steps is objectively good thanks in large part to Vanessa Kirby. She has a warmth that really envelops the movie with motherly love.

My #LastFourWatched for #Letterboxd, which is actually still back in July, are: “The Birdcage,” “Faces of Death,” “Exit 8,” and “Forbidden Fruits.” I only disliked one of them. Guess which one.

Even though it’s been two months later, I remain blown away by #Obsession and have already watched it several times. @indenavarrette.bsky.social achieved a brilliance that’s rare in acting these days, by somehow revealing Nikki’s pain and suffering behind that otherwise frightening expression.

A ★★★★★ review of Obsession (2025)
It’s 2 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, and I’m just now getting to my review of “Obsession” after watching it more than two months ago. Life has just been life-n’ recently. Been struggling with sleep due to some health issues, which in turn affects my work, my home life, my pastimes and my passions. In a perpetual haze of anxiety and depression, I’ve done little with my life for some time now. Still, there was always one thing that kept gnawing at me, and that was my insistence to review this film. There were nights like now when I opened the

It’s been a long four months but I’m back with my #LastFourWatched for #Letterboxd, although technically I saw these movies in July. From “Obsession” to “Hokum,” these movies were amazing.

Getting to this kinda late, but my #LastFourWatched consisted mostly of creature features, some good, some OK. “Beast” is “The Ghost and the Darkness” with a CGI lion. But “Anaconda” was hilarious. “Thrash” is something. End of sentence. “Bodycam” … well. #LetterboxdFriday.

My watchlist is so well-curated with films I’ll likely be interested in that I am rarely disappointed. Even when a movie isn’t all that great, I’ll at least have fun watching it. But “The Mortuary Assistant” is, in fact, a disappointment. Unfortunately. And here’s why.

California has the largest immigrant population, but it’s also directly tied to its economy, just as it is in Texas and Florida. Three of the largest economies in the U.S. While mass deportations are absolutely about immigration, there’s much more at play.
