40 #albumanniversary I’m gonna say again, 1985 was the best year in music. The lyrics, the production. Unmatched. Masterpiece. (Actually 40, a couple of weeks ago)

40 #albumanniversary My favorite synth pop album. Nothing like it. Hearing this for the first time, in high school, on a cassette sitting in my car - the first track Dream Within A Dream, the vocals being a reading of the Edgar Allan Poe poem, had me stunned. Still so good.

Haven’t done a vinyl post in a while. Tough to motivate with all the bad shit in the world right now. But Uncle Jarvis ALWAYS cheers me up and energizes. Anyway, new album, 45 RPM 2LP audiophile version sounds amazing. The track Farmers Market, just beautiful.

Really think we have Taylor Swift to thank getting this reissued again. Waited 25 yrs, then missed the boat the first repress and missed out again the 2nd. 35 yrs on, TS drops them in a lyric and opens them up to a whole new young audience ♥️ 3x a charm! #thebluenile #vinyl #vinylsky #catsandvinyl

RIP Dave Thomas. Fortunate to have seen Pere Ubu live when they toured with the Pixies in the early 90s. Witnessed music gods. DT and PU’s impact and influence was huge already by then. I haven’t listened to this in a long time, Wow! 😮🤯🫠 #pereubu #postpunk #vinyl #vinylsky #catsandvinyl

Arrived in the mail. Reissue of a classic. Band gets lumped w/ Shoegaze a lot but they’re so beyond that. Has more in common w/ Aphex Twin’s Ambient Works Vol.1 and Slowdive’s Pygmalion showed the band going in this direction. Over 30 years on - still inspiring and the kind of music I wanna make.

#Severance #IYKYK Michel Legrand composed some beautiful, haunting melodies. Windmills Of Your Mind is one of those. Alan & Marylin Bergman’s lyrics twirl and spiral - they could’ve been written specifically for the Innies. Mel Torme’s version on the ep is perfect! Dusty’s is also amazing.

K good for now. Got all the food groups: compression, OD, chorus, vol, looper, trem, delay, reverb - even worked in the MBV reverse gate reverb from my hardly used SPX90 (hooked to Portal fx loop w vol). My 14 yr old reco’d the Super Fuzz ($25 new!) - Top 5 in Anderton’s Fuzz shootout #guitarpedals
