MichaelJMcM 🇳🇿 @michaeljmcm.bsky.social · 12/10/2026I’m really surprised this hasn’t been remade as a streaming show yet, given the popularity of vaguely YA futuristic dystopias. I think it’d be really interesting right now what with the obsession we all have with youth and nostalgia and generational conflict. 140 0

MichaelJMcM 🇳🇿 @michaeljmcm.bsky.social · 12/10/2026I like the way they do guns in this film, the effect is a little weak visually but they make a satisfying bang. Kind of halfway between Star Wars lasers and Blade Runner’s blasters. 110 0

MichaelJMcM 🇳🇿 @michaeljmcm.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Barney Martin (Morty Seinfeld) plays the father of Liza Minelli’s character. It’s not the only Seinfeld connection, the whole thing feels proto-Larry David. Liza is very cute in this, she also reminds me of Julia Louis-Dreyfus 010 0

MichaelJMcM 🇳🇿 @michaeljmcm.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Well that was great. The 80s were a treasure trove of wonderful, one and done fantasy and sci fi movies for families. My son joined me to watch the ending after initially being skeptical. By the end he was asking me if there was a sequel. Now, does anyone know where I can stream D.A.R.Y.L (1986)? 030 0

They all seemed to have real depth. I was particularly a fan of Harry, the hulking, silent former boxer with a heart of gold and sad eyes. 120 0
