I'm very happy to share that my first dissertation paper is now online in Party Politics (🔓)! I examine how political appointments (patronage) relate to coalition support in multiparty presidential systems, using roll-call data from Brazil's Chamber of Deputies (2003-2018). doi.org/10.1177/1354...

To be fair, some have first names that could be either female or male, but looking at the list again, I'm counting 8, actually: 44 Lee Epstein 46 Jo Freeman 51 Nancy S. Love 55 Elinor Ostrom 70 Mary G. Dietz 74 Jean Bethke Elshtain 85 Eileen McDonagh 91 Diana Z. O'Brien

How does coalition participation influence party membership?@hannaeback.bsky.social @michaelimre.bsky.social and I find that junior coalition partners lose more members than parties that govern alone, and an increasing ideol. diversity within the cabinet is related to a decreasing number of members.

and I read weird stuff about how they handle peer review in at some point in the past. Fully predatory? Probably not, personally still would not touch it...

They at least behave similar to predatory journals with the way they scrape conference programs and send spam (friend of mine was asked if he wanted to do a special issue on his research topic "University of Bergen, Norway" because they did it badly),
