The brilliant Natalie Kon-Yu, Emily Booth and Tom Clark allowed me to join them to write a Friday essay for The Conversation (AUNZ) on the emotionality of the men (mostly) of Trump's cabinet: theconversation.com/friday-essay...

Friday essay: ‘epic fury’ – the men of MAGA might be the most emotional US leaders ever
The emotional outbursts of MAGA men can seem spontaneous and even silly – but we should take them seriously, especially when they apply to war.

Hi Shiv, Very old research from Fasting and Pfister (2000) showing that when women players got the chance to experience women coaches, their attitide towards women coaches became more supportive- it's a ripper of a read journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

What are female athletes’ expectations and evaluations of coaches? Is gender still important? These are the main questions discussed in this article. It is base...

Hi Stephanie, Using the first line of the quote from Jane Clare Jones to describe the SC/Single Sexed Toilet judgement is brilliant comedy. 'We just want to get on with the shit.'

Hi Kirsti, An interesting aspect is that the RFU (UK Rugby) allow case by case assessment for age group categories and players playing down. The gender critical arguments against case by case with trans athletes are inconsistent with rugby's own age group rules. www.englandrugby.com/run/rules-go...

Be more brutal- for most of the people in the world, sports are hobbies. And we take the results way too seriously.

'When they win' was just shorthand. I was also going to put feminism in inverted commas. I agree with Ahmed and others- GC is not feminism.

Always been a problem for me with their feminism. When they win their mini-battle against trans women, what comes next. Once trans women are all out of women's sports, what target is next in producing greater power for women athletes? What is next for prison reform? There is nothing.

Those gender criticals lauding Trump's executive order on trans* in NCAA sports should now think about what happens to women's sports when the Federal Department of Education is dismantled. I can't see Texas and Florida etc being tough on Title IX non-compliance. www.espn.com.au/college-spor...

Education order could put gender equity in limbo
The department's Office for Civil Rights has historically been responsible for enforcing the law credited with the rise of women's sports over the past half-century.

Have to also thank the reviewers and editors at @femmediastudies.bsky.social . Brilliant suggestions to use Crenshaw, Carastathis and Cohen to support a better understanding of coalitions borne 'of practical necessity'.

New open access paper in Feminist Media Studies by Nat Kon-Yu and I. Use Barbie movie to argue for a coalitional feminism in opposition to both gender criticism and popular feminism. Please read and offer comments- both positive and negative comments are welcomed. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
