I live in Nebraska. Thankfully in blue Omaha and NOT in GI (which is neither grand nor an Island). I know those people but I’ll never understand them. I’ve given up trying to talk to them and just try to avoid them. They are too stupid to know that they’re voting against their own interests.

Lincoln is blue. (Blue mayor and city council) The surrounding areas are red. The district includes enough of the surrounding areas that a R always wins. Omaha is more purple although they just elected a Democratic mayor!

Bacon’s district did NOT vote for Trump. Under state law, Nebraska’s electoral college votes go to the winner of each congressional district. Kamala and NOT Trump got the one electoral college vote from Nebraska #2. The Blue Dot is alive and well!!

Trump didn’t win in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District (that includes Omaha.) Nebraska splits its electoral college votes by congressional districts so while Nebraska went for Trump, Omaha most certainly did NOT. The Blue Dot is alive and well!

Dem candidate is currently county treasurer and a former OPD police captain. He ran on safety and public works. Republican 3x incumbent ran on her record and then at the end ran anti-trans bathroom ads. She championed a street car project that is very unpopular.

The Dem candidate in Omaha won by 11 points. ELEVEN! She was a 3x incumbent and won her last race with 65% of the vote. She’s been a popular mayor but resorted to negative and anti-trans ads. Hopefully this is an indication that people are sick of MAGA. Proud to live in the blue dot today!

Well, we haven’t had a Democratic mayor in 12 years. Our congressman is a Republican and both senators are Republicans. Every statewide office is held by a Republican (despite the fact the vast majority of Nebraskans live in Omaha and Lincoln.) So yeah, this is a big deal.
