Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 04/10/2026As a Ukrainian soldier said already in spring 2022: We are lucky they are so stupid. 031
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 22/09/2026I don’t want to say that Trump lies, he just has a flexible relation to the truth, a wild imagination and a warped sense of reality. 000

Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Any russian visitors there at the time of the ”accident”? 040
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Yes, Putin hates Zelensky for not giving up, and Zelensky hates Putin for orchestrating a a war with genocidal tendencies on Ukraine. 0243
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 02/09/2026The only similarity between Mt. Denali and Lake America is that the decision was made by a president. It took Trump 2 days to rename Lake Ontario to Lake Amerika, based on a whim. It took 40 years of effort from native Alaskans to go back from Mt. Kinley to go back to the original name Denali. 010
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026It’s up to each company to decide, private map providers are not required to mirror GNIS, and it is still Google’s policy to chose to display Trump’s whims not only to US Citizens but to the rest of the world (albeit within parentheses). So for Google map it is a combo of solution and policy. 010
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026It is also worth mentioning that the technical part is one thing, and the company policy is another. Not all mapping companies have decided to display Trump’s whims for the rest of the world, most just do it for US citizens. 110
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026The discussion here is probably less about the technical part of how each country can decide their naming in the GNIS database, and more how absurd and quickly the changes happened, Trump floated the Idea on the 25th, signed Executive order on the 27th and Google rolled it out on the 29th. 221
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026In Sweden on my phone, it still says Lake Ontario, and I hope it stays that way. 030
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I agree they can, they can probably rename USA to UST as well, but so far for us Europeans at least they have not renamed Lake Ontario and not Gulf of Mexico yet, but they do write the alternative name within parentheses in some cases. 110
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026He is right, it is just a mug, let’s instead talk about who gave it to him, his relationship with the giver, and why he kept it. 090
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026No, I did not, but I see now that if one search for ”lake ontario” then it also shows ”(lake america)”, but it is not visible if you for example search for ”Toronto” and look on the lake. 1180
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026It must be quite impractical to rename all waters in/around US to ”America” and all building of value to ”Trump”, personally I find it more practical with different names, makes communication way easier. But, if one is getting old and have problems with remembering things, I can see the advantage. 080
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 30/08/2026In Europe we still see Lake Ontario, I suppose Google would, if they could, only show Lake America to Republican voters… 41035
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 26/08/2026While I think it is excellent that the European funding is spent in Europe, I think it would be better to make sure we have material to deliver before restricting them. 010
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Great that Ukraine won, sad that they had to meet Russia. Sport organizations should create clear rules for attending countries, that way this would not be an issue, and yes clear rules would affect more countries than Russia. The length of the bans should depend on what the country have done. 070
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Rattle rattle rattle, see if anyone is listening this time. 010
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 15/07/2026It can be good to mention that the problem is not only that the cameras are Chinese but how they work. Many Chinese cameras, but not all, require internet connection because they need to send images to the server for image processing used for detecting people etc. This a major security flaw. 000
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Now, I am expecting innovative ”news” from Russia, that is was Ukraine that somehow killed him. 000
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Senator Lindsey Graham, 71, dies after ’brief and sudden illness’ after returning from Kyiv visit. I think it is very sad, 71 is not an age, and also he was supporter of Ukraine and we need those in the US senate. www.nbcnews.com/politics/pol...nbcnews.comSen. Lindsey Graham dies at 71 after ‘brief and sudden illness’Graham had just returned from Kyiv, Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. 100
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 28/06/2026But it’s good smoke so we hope they will continue doing it! (I know it’s bad for the environment, but to be honest, Russia’s whole existence is bad for the environment) 000
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Very informative, and when hearing it, quite obvious, but one is not really thinking that way, so of course military and civilian vessels will read the situation completely different. 010
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 23/06/2026I do own that I support Ukraine, I am proud of it, and I don’t need to hide behind a anonymized picture and name. You on the other hand is like a typical pro-Russian hiding behind a non identifiable obscure account. You are the one that do exactly what you accuses me for. So please own it! 010
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 23/06/2026I think I have read enough from you after reading all your replies you written here and in another threads. You have a new account, you are unusually active, especially when it comes to write anti-Ukrainian stuff, but not a negative word about Russia. I see a pattern… 120
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 22/06/2026History is ugly, and you seem to chose to only see one side of the ugliness, that is very much historical denialism. If you read my posts it is clear I do not defend UPAs horrible massacre, but such events happens in a context, and that context is rarely as black and white as you make it sound. 110
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Finally I would like to say that most Ukrainians have the ability to both see the horrible things UPA did around 1943, and the freedom fighting UPA did during the 1950s against Soviet Union/Russia, and it is the later they lift up in a positive light, now when they are facing a similar threat. 000
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 22/06/2026I would like to clarify that you call it genocide, but it has never been classified as such legally, but I think ethnic cleansing is a more justified term, and if I am not incorrect all 100K were not only Polish, but also Ukrainians and others not considered good enough. Horrible regardless. 240
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 22/06/2026I almost fully agree, and I hope you agree with me that the way Poland treated the Ukrainian majority in that part of then Poland was very bad, except for a very small period, and that those action by Poland should be taken into account, even though they can never justify the massacre. 120
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 22/06/2026I guess you, as well as I, understand that the reason Ukrainians today see UPA as something positive, has nothing to do with the horrible massacre in Volnya and eastern Galicia? UPA represents a group that fought for a free Ukraine, when everyone else including Poland just wanted to divide it. 330
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 18/06/2026It must feel safe to live in a building with an air defense system on its roof, knowing it renders the building a legal military target. 130
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 05/06/2026Putin always lies, he will start surprising us when he starts telling the truth. 020
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 31/05/2026My parents need to clean up my mess. What is the purpose of parents if they don’t fix the things I have messed up. I mean, it would be a crazy world if one had to fix its own mess, right? 060
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 20/05/2026I have been working in Ukraine on and off since 2012 so that is when I started following news about Ukraine. I joined Bluesky a year or two ago I think, and I have followed you for about a year I guess. 010
Mikael Grönlund @mg67.bsky.social · 20/05/2026I think we all know that JD Vance talks bullshit generally, and in this case it is a big pile of bullshit . 070
