Hosanna wasn’t just a shout of praise. It was—and still is—a cry for help. It means “save us.” In the streets of an occupied city, people cried out for liberation from empire, economic injustice, and corrupt leadership. #MFSAVoices #JusticeSeeking #PalmSunday

Call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121. Tell them your zipcode to be connected with your representative.

"Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I am a constituent from [Your City, ZIP Code]. I am calling today because I am deeply concerned about [specific issue—e.g., threats to democracy, attacks on marginalized communities, the rollback of rights, etc.]."

"I urge you to take action by [specific demand—e.g., speaking out publicly, voting against harmful bills, supporting specific legislation]. Silence is not an option. As an elected leader, you have a duty to protect democracy, our constitution, and the rights of all people."

"I will be watching your response closely, and I expect you to do the right thing. Thank you for your time."

Presidents’ Day is a time meant to honor the office of the President. But respect for the office doesn’t mean silence in the face of harm. Right now, we have a leader who is endangering democracy, targeting human rights and the well-being of our communities.
Call Your Representatives

Presidents’ Day is a time meant to honor the office of the President. But respect for the office doesn’t mean silence in the face of harm. Right now, we have a leader who is endangering democracy, targeting human rights and the well-being of our communities.

As people of faith and conscience, we believe in speaking truth to power. We are called to demand justice, to challenge oppression, and to protect those most vulnerable. Our democracy only works if we hold those in power accountable.

Today, we recognize the birthday of Rosa Parks, a lifelong freedom fighter whose defiance on a Montgomery bus was not an isolated act, but part of a much broader struggle against injustice.

A message is displayed on a blue background with a plumbline symbol. The message is from MFSA and reads:

In the wake of recent executive orders that disproportionately target and harm marginalized communities, the Methodist Federation for Social Action (MFSA) stands in unwavering solidarity with those affected.

We affirm the sacred worth of all people and reject actions that seek to dehumanize, exclude, or oppress. We commit to amplifying the voices of those impacted, advocating for justice, and supporting the ongoing work of liberation.

To those who feel targeted or unsafe:
You are not alone. We see you, we hear you, and we will continue to stand alongside you, working toward a world that upholds dignity, equity, and love for all.

May we move forward together, grounded in faith and action, to resist injustice and build a community where all are truly free.

We honor the legacy of the first Social Creed of the Methodist Episcopal Church, crafted by the Methodist Federation for Social Service (now MFSA). Rooted in the pursuit of justice for workers, this creed laid the foundation for the United Methodist Church's Social Principles.
