So, I was well chuffed when this surprise turned up yesterday from my wonderful Scottish friend! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Hoping to pop into the shop when we’re in Glasgow at the beginning of December !✊ @weare1of100.bsky.social

First time I’ve been there! Will be keeping an eye out for future events there now I’m spending more time on the south coast again!✊

Thinking about Worthing in the early ‘90s - there was a (grim) club at the end of the pier which did actually put on some good nights.✊ Ironically, I did the opposite journey a fair few times up to Leeds for Back To Basics in the ‘90s. What a night that was back then!✊

Great gig at Coast! Well worth the 600+ mile round trip via Brighton seeing freinds!✊ @justinrobertsonart.bsky.social

Yeah, very intimate gig! Worthing has changed quite a bit since I lived there in 1990 before moving to Brighton for the rest of the decade. Almost went to Carats Cafe (lots of free parties in the 90s) in Southwick (near Brighton) for The Mighty Zaf.

No, it’s at The Coast Cafe!✊

No worries! I used it again at Moby yesterday!✊

Oh good. Ask the O2 young people at the entrance (on the left hand side) - they’ll give you an O2 wristband. In the O2 tent you can get free fans. Anyway, enjoy. Brighton is great (I’m biased as I used to live there in the 90s) and being outside on the beach with music is heaven!✊

210

MikeyF @mf303.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

I booked through Skiddle too. The event space itself will be the same. The O2 priority just allows you to jump queues and go in a small dedicated bar. My mate’s phone is with O2 and got us this benefit. Hoping to see Moby next week as I’m having a week off hanging out with mates down there.✊

MikeyF @mf303.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

Well organised. Plastic flooring once onsite so you’re not walking over pebbles. Probably not enough toilets for women. Free drinking water. Queuing at bars was bearable but we had O2 priority. Are you with O2? Does get a bit packed in for main acts. Happy vibe overall but a boozy one!✊

Saw the Pixies at open air gig in Berkshire last night. They were a big band for me in the 90s and the songs still sound as fresh as they did back then. Pity Kim Deal isn’t still with them. 🫤 Lovely setting!✊

The green Perla is a much better drink!🤙

Agree. Tried the yellow Perla but it’s way too sweet!😬 I’ll try the green Perla next!✊

Great day rave of 90s hardcore at Orange @ Koko - DJ Hype, Slipmatt, Grooverider and RatPack! Somehow managed to do 6 hours of proper old school moves - bit battered now though!🙄

😂 As in the true tradition of back in the day, I might ‘do half and see how I get on’!🤣

Hope you had a good time. That disco day in Brixton was good wasn’t it?! I’m back down in London in a couple of weeks for Orange @ Koko. Reliving my love of hardcore for a day!!

MikeyF @mf303.bsky.social · 25/05/2026

Probably the best time I’ve had there. Always a good vibe there on these days. Did you go?

Went to the Brixton Disco Festival yesterday in London with a mate - Dave Lee and Luke Una were on 🔥. Also by fluke, met, for the first time, the man, the myth, the legend that is @dannykelly.bsky.social in a pub next to the Electric!😉 Nice to meet you btw!✊

Totally! Completely unpretentious and always a good vibe. I never understood why people knocked big beat? The energy and fun of those tracks still hit for me but there again I love a good breakbeat! I had the opportunity to talk to Norm about it a few weeks ago. What a time and place to be alive!✊

Hard agree. I too, had many great nights at The Boutique in the 90s!✊
