The books in Loraine's portrait are stacked in a way that's more for keeping the setting visually interesting than practicality or characterization's sake and as I do the lineart I keep thinking "Loraine would NOT stack them like that." But unfortunately neater stacks look more boring

Taking my pencil and ink thumbnails and using them as the basis for my digital sketches has highlighted to me differences in my approach to comics layout when working traditionally vs digitally. Namely, I am more adventurous when it is easy to erase things, which isn't super surprising
