Depending on the type of plastic/epoxy you may be able to remove it by soaking in acetone over night. If the slice does not need refinishing you can recoat. If it is very thin/fragile refinishing may not be possible. I recommend storing with 4A desiccant even with encasements. 👍

Visited the Tesla Experimental Station site, it was a laboratory in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA built in 1899 by inventor Nikola Tesla. A nice park now, only a plaque remains to mark the site.
