Official art from Shigenori Soejima for the Metaphor Character Election. Strohl (1st place) is in the foreground, winking, Will (3rd place) is looking over his shoulder, and Louis (2nd place) is looming over both of them in the background. metaphor spoilers!!! // new #metaphorrefantazio fic! - archiveofourown.org/works/62991715 when rella and del have an unexpected meeting at the opera house in altabury, they share an unspoken hopelessness, the future on their minds. can those who don't believe in themselves believe in each other?

An Archive of Our Own screenshot with a fic onscreen, titled, "Thorned and Forgone," by lalahss. The summary reads, "On a snowy Saint's Day in Altabury, Rella Cygnus waits in the Opera House for an escort to her sister's performance. Footsteps fill the labyrinthine corridors beyond this practice room's door, but it's not until a breathless, yet familiar, Fidelio Magnus dashes in that she ends up face to face with the darkest shadows from her past, no longer contained solely to her heart.

Will either of them bring their walls down, knowing the other's pain? Is it even safe to, given the factions they're bound to and the roles they must play? What will the future hold for the hopeless and damned, when they see no future for themselves?"
The notes read, "first metaphor fic wooooo!!! so delighted to start writing in a new fandom for the first time in a long time, and w characters so thought-provoking as rella and fidelio, i really can't resist going in and exploring their pain

massive spoilers in this fic!!! do not even so much as TOUCH this fic unless you've finished up w rella and del's arcs in game <3"
Below is a screenshot from Metaphor: ReFantazio, showing Rella Cygnus speaking to Fidelio Magnus on Eht Ria. She says, "... I see. Then you should be fine. Just... don't take life for granted, or your treatment will have been for nothing. Keep on living, all right?"
