Released on this day in 1986, happy 40th to "Somewhere in Time". I didn't go to school the first two days after it was released, listening to it on repeat, then leaving the house before the old man got home, 'coming home from school', and listening a few more times. What an album!

Well, that's it. I've seen Iron Maiden nine times this year. What a fantastic trip it has been. Milan, Paris, Newark (x2), Boston, Bristow, Charlotte, Shakopee, and Chicago. What a journey!

Jesus H, Minnesota is a bit cold tonight.

J @metalhoosier.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Yes, yes, and indeed, yes. Megadeth just played "Wake Up Dead" and "In My Darkest Hour" back-to-back. Holy shit, that's a bucket list item ticked off.

I flipped a coin whether I went to Louder Than Life tonight for Maiden, and decided not to. We have a heat index of 107f / 42c, which I can definitely do without. Flying to Minnesota tomorrow, then Maiden Saturday and again on Tuesday in Chicago.

I started working for my current employer eight years ago today. Can't wait to get to ten so I can have more pots and pans for free. I would not have said that 30 years ago, but the mellower me appreciates simpler things these days!

ZZ Top was the first blues rock band I ever really heard back in the early 80s, and we've now lost two of the original trio. RIP Frank Beard.

I haven't had a cigarette in 17 years now, but once in a while the craving still hits. Only lasts for a couple of minutes and then it's gone. I'll never have another, but still. The addiction will always be there.
